Looking to order a JCW MINI S

I am the owner of a 2007 Mazdaspeed3. Long story short...I got way in over my head with mods. I went for 400whp, the shop I took it to didn't know crap about the car...car is being sold.

Now... I was recently at the BMW dealer and they didn't have any MT to test drive. Right across the way is a MINI dealer. So I said what the hell...I'm gonna test drive one of these beasts! lol. I sign the paperwork and give my lisence and we are on our way. (I just realised I left my lisence there! haha).

Anyways, I drove a Cooper S base and loved the power/handling/space...I am 6 foot 2 and I fit perfect. But I know theres more power to be had so thats why I am looking at the JCW version. So my understanding is they open the motor up a bit, throw in stronger pistons, bigger twin scroll turbo? I am extremely interested in this car and I NEVER ever thought I would be!

What is the usual wait time from the time of ordering on one of these things? I am looking to buy early next year like January!

Depends.... if you find one on the lot, no wait time at all, but I've seen anywhere from 90 days to 3 months if you order one to your spec. Try posting in the JCW forum for a more accurate response

What part of the country you in? East coast can get you one pretty darn quick. 9-11 weeks for Hawaii.

I am in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. And I was recently told 6-8 weeks. In December Oxford, Englad shuts down the plant for holiday...much like most of Europe.

I waited four months for my JCW and it was definitely worth the wait. It really depends on the dealer and what slots they have available.

OP welcome to NAM. You should be able to get a MINI JCW in 6-8 weeks in FL, but the factory is shutting down for a spell in Dec so depending on where U order and the available build slots 6-8 weeks could extend a little longer. It took 108 days to get my new S from order to delivery, but there was the model year transition and the factory closes in August so that 108 days is normally about 60-80 where I live (CO).

also FYI the factory JCW, both coupe and Clubman, is known as the MINI JCW, while the MCS coupe/Clubby that has the dealer installed tuning kit (like mine) is the MCS JCW, also known (informally) as the JCW Stage I. Confusing? I know but if U go to the 2nd gen JCW sub-forum a lot of ???s can be answered there. Those guys are intense and knowledgable, for the most part.

good luck.

If you found a FL dealer with a JCW slot open for Week 49 (the last week before shutdown), then you'd be in good shape to get it around Christmas.

So, if you order one TODAY or MAYBE Friday, you might squeeze one in before the shutdown... MAYBE.

So, if you really want one quickly, I'd call around for someone with an open slot. My dealer (Ferman MINI of Tampa) usually has a decent number of slots, so it couldn't hurt to call.

Plus, if you say I referred you, I'll split the referral money with you

Friday or Saturday call Vista MINI in Coconut Creek,FL and ask for my MA Giorgio Ortiz he owns a beautiful '09 Mini JCW plus 2 others and he is great to work with and can help get you a '09 Mini JCW

I was there today and I believe they have either 2 or 3 of them in stock if you need one right away or just order one with the the options that you want.

Heh, when I ordered my JCW I was in luck and got one of two remaining spots from my dealer. Ended up taking 5 weeks. If I'd wanted anything but a JCW hardtop, the wait time was *6 months or more*! Insane.

Actually, depending on who you talked to, that might actually work, since there aren't THAT many "Blaine's" that have ordered cars in the last few weeks and they know I drive Mustangs.

go for it! So far I am very pleased with mine. I have build a couple MS3s and this car has a little more personality and the handling is fantastic for a FWD car!
