Woohoo! Just ordered my JCW!
A few weeks ago I decided to go test drive a JCW Mini. The dealer had one of the "launch" package JCW's available to drive. As soon as I got in, I realized it was bigger on the inside than I'd thought. I love start button too, although it's a bit redundant after inserting the key. As I started driving, the first thing I noticed was the sound! Amazing and addictive! The exhaust pop between gearshifts will never get old! The ride was better than I expected, and the overall noise level was acceptable as this will be my daily driver. I was even more amazed at how well it handled (forget the fact that it's FWD!) After a 20 mile test drive I was hooked and have spent the past week configuring my perfect JCW. I went with Dark Silver/Black Roof/White turn signals/Black bonnet stripes/Cold Weather/Black Lounge Leather/Auto AC/Auto Dimming rear view/Homelink/Checkered side scuttles/Multi function steering wheel. I do plan to black out the chrome trim on the grill as soon as it arrives. The dealer tells me it should be here mid December, which will give me time to sell my current car instead of trading it in.
I'm really looking forward to becoming a Mini owner!!!!

You guys must be getting excited for your delivery! I've never ordered a car before and I can tell the wait is going to be excrutiating. I'm more of an instant gratification type. As far as the comfort access, I don't like to drive with anything in my pockets, so if I have to take it out anyway, why not just use it. I did think about that one for a while though......
Us too
My wife and I ordered last night. Told to expect delivery in early December (no wait for a build slot...).
Short test drives vs. S seemed to confirm that the car is everyday livable --- not to loud and acceleration is nice and progressive.
The JCW is a silly amount of money, but looked at it as a $5k splurge over the S and went for it. Insurance cost is basically identical, slight difference seems to be due to higher value of car.
Getting BRG body and roof, Cloth seats, Cold weather pack, Convenience pack, Xenon lights, Multi-function steering wheel, rear fogs, 10 speaker hi-fi.

I have had my JCW 3 months. Comfort access is a must. I don't have it. My Audi does, you can get spoiled so fast. No power seats with Memory, another need. My wife and I share it, she is 5-1, and I am 5-11, moving the seat, a supreme PITA whenever the other gets in the car. The noise from the Sunroof is extreme, dealer says bring it in to fix -- I will at 7000 miles when I get the oil changed. Dealer is 100+ miles away, that makes you plan your service needs. I am not going to wait til 14000 mile mark. The mechanic that works on my 03 BMW X5, 05 Audi A8L, and 71 Porsche 911T says DON'T do it. Another thing, they have to do away with -- the lame, extra large rear view mirror. With technology today they can do it with cameras and a screen in the middle of the clock. When driving the Twisties, it is a severe blind spot. And, we drive the twisties every day. BTW, in spite of its little idiosyncrasies, we love it. We have 4 cars to choose from, and guess which one we both grab the keys to drive every time. Snow season is upon us, so I guess "Junior" will get some rest now. For those of you waiting, I think whatever might not be quite perfect with it when it arrives -- you will still love it. I want to sell the Audi and Porsche and get another one, a Cabriolet. What does that tell you?
I was dissapointed at no memory seats too, but thankfully my wife cannot drive a stick so I'll only have to adjust it after all my friends drive it
