I'm salivating after reading the Auto Express (UK) articles. After owning 3 different MCS's over the past 6 years, this sounds like the ultimate MINI. I am scheduled to take delivery this Thurs or Fri. Can't wait!!! I'll post pics later this week............

Reading the NAM Review, I noticed in a point:
"t’s worth noting that while the factory JCW is up 19hp over the dealer installed JCW engine kit, the torque is only up 6ft lbs (the engine kit has 200ft lbs of torque). The result is that the JCW engine kit (which costs around $2000 installed if you look hard enough) remains a viable option for those looking to up the OEM performance ante."

I thought that the JCW kit was producing 184ft lbs torque (199 with overboost).
Seems to me that they compare the "normal" torque with the "overboost" torque of R56s

I don't think so - most of the mechanical changes are uprated base S components verses an all new from scratch design. I've only driven a couple of thousand miles so far, but it all feels very well sorted out to me.

Current issue of Eurotuner mag has the Cooper S over the R32. Not a direct comparo btw, more in general terms.

Rondel just had a well turned review of the JCW. SOrry, no link, Rondel comes with BMW-CCA membership.
