I have a 2019 and reading stories has me paranoid. But listening to the engine it has a rattling noise, but it always has.

Not heard of such problems for the F60's. This was much more of an issue with the earlier engines.

@Mini-Titan Thank you. I think through Reddit, NAM, and Facebook, I've made myself paranoid

The main issues are: Top motor mount, almost for sure you will have it, repeatedly. Oil filter cartridge gasket some people hit. Thermostat leak where the thermostat and water pump are all one unit (a good thing) some people hit. And a few people have the A/C Heater duct diverter fail, for a $4k fix. There are a lot of people that have no issues at 160k+, or just motor mount. Overall very solid cars.

Not much, most are 2014-2019 Cooper S chains. Half of those are F56 2014-2015 early models. I have not seen many issues yet.

Motor mounts are the big issues. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...placement.html

i do have a 2019 f60 s. So hopefully I’m okay. As for mounts, yeah i had the dealer replace those a few weeks back after they called them out when replacing the battery.

I read through most all of the F60 NAM, Facebook groups, etc counting the number of what issue was notes. Totally UNSCIENTIFIC as most people don't report all the things that went wrong. But maybe the ration of different failures is useful to know. There were 15 motor mounts, 7 "drive jerky", 4 ac/heater diverter ($4kish to fix), then 55 things with only 1-2 time. Thermostat was 2, and oil filter housing was 1. I mentioned those last to above because the F56 forums and a friend that would know mentioned them. Hope that is interesting, if not a bit useful. Maybe ECS you have a better sense of what fails. Especially selling parts, the ration of one parts sales # to others.

Oh, battery was 7 instances in the spreadsheet. Clearly more have actually been replaced.

We sell a bunch of parts for that series but we also sell to people who rebuild broken and salvaged MINIs and then they ship them to South America or beyond.

So they might have damaged the engine in hydrolock and bought parts from us that usually do not fail. So we sell a bunch of parts that usually don't fail unless car is wrecked or damaged.

Lots of MINIs overseas because of their cost in that country get rebuilt.

F60: I have only seen motor mounts and oil filter housings be bad. Not much on the timing side yet.

Also all MINIs from 2002+ have chains, no rubber belts unless its a serpentine belt, those get replaced as a service part like an air filter and such.

Thank you so much ECS for this great insight, and taking time to explain in detail how and why your customers are buying parts!

I have a 2019 F60 S at 80k... motor mount has been replaced. I also have the small leak at the themostat/water pump housing. Currently, watching that closely. No other issues as of yet (fingers crossed).
