I have a transitional year mini Cooper. Specifically a 2014 mini Cooper s with a b48 engine.

I've read that the b48 and b46 engines are practically identical with some differences in emissions controls.

So, is it safe to assume that exhaust parts meant for the b46 are compatible with a b48 engine, at least as far as fitment is concerned?

I am hoping the cross compatibility will make it much easier to find parts for this car. I specifically need a catalytic converter and an aftermarket catalytic converter is compatible with both the b 48 and b46 engine but, there are what seem to be higher quality cats and mid pipes that are listed for the b46 exclusively.
