Caliper piston rebuild help

How do I get the boot/seal off the caliper? It seems like its glued in there. Do I need to remove the piston housing somehow?
If anyone has any guides on how to rebuild the caliper that would be great, the boot is ripped so I bought a rebuild kit from rockauto.

Thanks!

I can't tell if the piston is still in situ.

You must remove the piston to remove the boot.
I use an air gun into the supply port and a thick rag or a chunk of 2x4 to prevent the piston from banging into the far side of the caliper.

None of the Mini calipers I've rebuilt use a retaining ring for the boot. Once the piston is out, boot should pull off, it may be stuck due to corrosion.

Make sure the grooves for the boot and piston seal are clean of corrosion and use a generous amount Sil-Glyde or equivalent in both grooves.
