Countryman Rear Caliper Dust Boot Torn
Countryman Rear Caliper Dust Boot Torn
I was compressing the rear piston and the dust boot was torn. Is there a way to fix it? I checked RealOEM and it shows the caliper housing as a unit.
The piece I'm referring to, is the rubber boot that protects the piston from dust and debris.
Any ideas?
Thank you

If it were my car I'd remove the piston to inspect for scratches. What you want to look for is a caliper rebuild kit from the dealer. Do not compromise safety for a $5 difference in an aftermarket seal. It should have the square piston seal and dust boot, but confirm that it has both. If you're not 100% confident in rebuilding a caliper, PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT!
I called Seattle Mini and unfortunately the repair kit is not available for the countryman, the only option is to buy the entire caliper housing. I will need to go after market if there is a kit available.

You can easily remove the piston to replace the boot. I have a dust boot that I can sell you from my 2013 MCS rear caliper.
Not sure if it is the same caliper or not.
