Hi,
Just bought a '17 Cooper F56 manual with 30k miles that is very base: Sport/leather/heated seats, alarm, and spare. I came from two R55s, a Justa and S. F56 typical problem list sure is smaller that the R55 based on reading most of the forum posts here. I have two questions:
1. I read motor mounts can fail at 60k miles, and have two friends that it happened to on the S. Is there any expectation how long 3 cylinder mounts will last?
2. Also read of control arm bushings failing/clunkin at low miles, and that there was an improved control arm. Is this true, and does anyone know when the control arm went into production?

I can’t help with your questions but nice Mini. You have an alarm on a base? Must of been a custom order at new.
Thanks. It was a California lease (I'm on Colorado). I feel really fortunate with the MINI. It was $14,300 CPO until mid 2022 with new brakes all around, two new tires, brake flush, oil. Nothing needed for a long time.
I too cannot answer you question directly, and echo the comment on how nice the vehicle is.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about what is reported to have failed in some cars. Rather sure that there are plenty of 2017 Justa's with more miles that didn't have any issues.. Since you already own the car, I would just enjoy it, maintain it and leave the rest to providence. No sense in fretting about something that hasn't (or may never happen) with your Mini. The S has a heavier engine with more torque. Depending on how they were driven could account for some of the engine mount failures. With the smaller, lighter and less powerful engine, I would imagine you'll be fine.
I'm also confident you can get the production date of your car with the VIN and then do a bit of research to see when the improved control arms entered production. Perhaps contacting your dealer who may have a service bulletin regarding the production change and warranty coverage's for repairs.

The upper motor mount on my 2017 F55 S was replaced at 21,653 miles. On my 2015 CPO F56 S, I did not realize I had motor mount failure until the standard 4 years warranty ran out at about 44K miles. Mini said the CPO warranty does not cover it. So, my advice is to ask your dealer to inspect the motor mount every time you bring the car in for service.
+1 on the motor mounts. I just had both motor mounts and the transmission mount replaced on my 2016 F57 justa convertible at 35,000 miles. Again, not covered by the CPO warranty (mounts are wear and tear items).
