Black door handle covers

Hello everyone. All this quarantine time has me online shopping like crazy, ha!
Anyways, I was looking at the black door handle covers for my 2015 F56 S from OutMotoring as well as a black fuel cap cover. Anyone have these, and if you do, how do they fit? Do they look good in your opinion? Any close up pics would be greatly appreciated. Stay safe everyone!

There is a thread called "Black Out" two threads below this that shows some pictures. I have the door handle covers on my f55 and fuel cap cover. They are adhered with tape and if you put them well on they fit well. Some things to note. If you have comfort access the cover, least on mine, brings the button flush, it no longer sticks out to push as easily. My drivers side door handle cover has also started peeling in 2 years. The black somehow has disappeared on the inner corner so you can tell it is silver, annoying. Mini has come out in the past year with actual black door handles, ecstuning, carries them. Last I looked they were the same price as the covers and will be permanent. Obviously they are more work but believe there is a walk through in the modifications forum on how to do the switch.

Do yourself a favor and buy the black handles. I bought the covers first but ran into issues so I ditched them and bought the handles. All OEM, super easy install and they look much better.

I had the covers for a couple of years. They began to oxidize after a few months. For a time, I would hit them with some polishing compound or plastic polish. However, after a while, I found myself needing to do this weekly to keep them looking good. Ultimately, I replaced the door handles with the piano black versions and added a carbon fiber fuel filler cap to go with the bonnet scoop and mirror covers. No issue now!

I've been meaning to try and purchase these through my dealer because I currently have the black covers from OutMotoring, and as someone mentioned above, they've started to oxidize and crack. I'd like to replace them with the OEM black handles from Mini. How difficult are these to switch out?

You can get them through us and pick up some other things while you are at it. We have a bunch of the black line and new black line emblems in stock.

This guy has a good video.

Having done this over the last couple days on my Clubman, here's some advice. Be careful when removing the stock handles. You want to try to make that as non violent as possible. Some of the videos online show how to use a screwdriver through the access hole to help support the springloaded latch release. It also helps to use the screwdriver method on the non driver's side door(s) to hold the latch tangs in place while getting the new handle to engage. Mind you I didn't see those videos before attempting the handle replacement. The ones I reviewed made it seem like no big deal to just pull the stock handle out and let the spring loaded catch release.

NOTE: In my case the 2 of my 4 doors had the uncontrolled spring loaded initial release cause the cable inside the door (the Bowden cable) to come unseated from the end closest to the handle. Thus even with the handle easily swapped out it was impossible to open the door from the outside. The door opened fine from the inside. To fix this I had to remove the interior door plastic, then pull back the moisture barrier and gain access to the interior of the door (raise the window before doing this). Once I had access to the interior of the door I was able to remove the spring loaded latch assembly (there is a T15 torx under the outside door handle once it is removed. Then I was able to reseat the Bowden Cable. This was a major PITA. I'm surprised it happened to me twice when I didn't see anyone else mention this. So proceed cautiously.

Overall though, now that everything is back together the blackline handles look great on my new JCW Clubman.

I have the black OEM and love them, plus they don’t cost much more then the covers if you install yourself. I did it myself with YouTube videos. Be patient and you can do it.
