So, long story short, I was changing the oil/filter and was just taking a look around and noticed that the driver side sway bar link was out of place and broken.
The OEM part has the bolts facing the same direction, however upon googling and going to a few auto part stores (only autozone had them in stock) all I find is links with the nuts going in opposite directions.
Now, I would not think that it would make a difference at all and dont think it will.
But do the link ends I buy need to be like the OEM ones with the both bolts facing the same direction?
Also, the ones that autozone had in stock, were JCW ones, which were a little shorter, what effect would that have pn a regular cooper S model?
this is what the original looks like
but this is pretty much all I am finding
So, does it really matter if the bolts are facing the same direction?
Moog K750807
$15 a piece at Rock Auto
$18 on Amazon
I have those on mine.
Definitely won’t break.
They are tied to a solid front H&R 27mm bar!!
Were these the same exact length as the OEM ones? is there any sound coming from the front end?
I bought these from Amazon, they are like half an inch shorter but I did buy 2 and switched both out. Figured the half inch shorter wouldn't be an issue especially since I replaced both. But since replacing them, they is a sound that comes from the from end. It's not a constant sound but when I go over certain bumps in the road it sounds as something is rubbing. It's a sound that wasnt there when the original ones were in place, so i'm pretty sure it has to do with the ones that I put in. Later today i'm going to put it on ramps and see if I notice any marks where metal is hitting metal.
