F55/F56 Clutch pedal adjustment

Clutch pedal adjustment

Clutch on my 2014 F56 (44kmiles) requires push almost to the floor to disengage; this make shifting slow and difficult. Can this be adjusted to engage higher???

It sounds like it might be time for a new clutch

I was going to suggest a bump stop but it might stop it from engaging if you have to push it that far down

The slave cylinder may just need to be bled or that could be going out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have/can't find a manual for my 2014 F56. How do I adjust/bleed the clutch slave cylinder? Is there a decent DIY manual available? Thanks to all!!!

I haven't bled the slave cylinder on a MINI but I have done it on a Miata. It's kinda like bleeding the brakes. You hold the clutch down and loosen the bleeder on the slave cylinder and then close it before lifting off the clutch. Repeat as needed. The Miata also had a way to adjust the clutch engagement at the peddle.

I finally bled the clutch slave cylinder and found NO AIR, so the clutch still is unsatisfactory. I have to go to the floor to disengage and shift. Is there a simple way to inspect the clutch disc to see if it's worn out? Thanks

That's actually what I prefer. On my R50 that I did a 6 speed swap in, the engagement point is about an inch off the floorboard,which I like. Much less pedal movement when launching the car or shifting gears. Besides, a worn clutch will typically engage/disengage at the top of the pedal movement, not at the bottom.
