Strange gear alarm on screen - how to reset ?
Hello all, this is my first post and I wonder if anyone has solved an issue I am facing on my 2016 F56 Mini Clubman. It is equipped with 8 gear automatic transmission , and the shift gear lever has 4 positions : P (parking) , Reverse, Neutral and Drive. Since days ago a "gear alarm" is lit on the screen, it suggests to immobilize the car with the hand brake because, I suppose, the P position has not been detected because of a random defect ( false joint on a cable, a disfunctioning sensor or switch?) but ... actually the park position IS DETECTED, I mean that when you stop the engine with the lever in Park position the car is blocked and does't move even if you try to push it, and the engine does not start if the lever is not in park position, so everything seems to work as it should; I think that the alarm on the screen has been lit just because of a momentary problem that now is reset by itself, but the alarm insist at every start and stop, so my question is : how to reset it ? Is there a good software to use which is capable to coding /uncoding and resetting alarms? The car is out of waranty and I would like to get rid of my official MINI vendor ...
Thank you very much in advance for every suggestion.

If it is resettable without issue then https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...020sch01a~scf/ or similar should be able to do it. However if it has a fault still it will either not reset or come right back.
