Can this be fixed?

I'm looking to buy this car. The bumper hangs a little lower on the passenger side and the hood seems a little off left to right. On one side it overhangs a little and the other it underhangs. I looked over the fasteners and underside and there is no sign of an accident. Clear Carfax as well.

I know the gaps on the hood of these cars can be wide, but has anyone seen this before? Can it be adjusted? I can lift up the bumper and the gap goes away, but when I let go it falls back.

Mine had that too - I brought it to a bodyshop near me, paid them for 1.5 hours labor and they realigned it. no more gaps!

Looks like your at a Ford dealership, have them fix it before you buy it. Get a Pre purchase inspection anyway and point that out.

The hood gap looks off too. I would check the car really carefully.

Yes the hood looks tweaked a bit but I can't find any other signs of damage.

FWIW, I don't think Mini would let the car go through QA with those gaps. They have a crew with a spacer that they run for panel fitment as the car nears completion, if too wide or gets pinched the car is sent back for adjustment.

As this is a used car, you have no way of knowing whether it's been in a fender bender or not. These are usually tell-tale signs that something out of the ordinary happened to this car. It could be a nothing deal like a a bump into another car in a parking lot or a stationary object like a light pole. Rather than file a claim, paid to have it fixed and all is well...no Carfax or police report. Then again, it could be something more w/o an accident report and a out of pocket fix.

Personally I'd look for another one or ask them to really sweeten the deal. For that many things to be out of whack, I'd be very cautious.

Probably a smart move. There are enough around that you can find a clean one without the telltale signs of an accident. Shop around

Yep, it might have been hit and somehow not reported.
