I already was using a yakima rack to carry bikes. One disadvantage was it did not allow the sun roof to open - so I modded the bar (In case any one else is in the same situation.) Cut and weld with 1/4 in steel bar in between.







I probably could have got away with shifting the bar less than I did, but wanted to allow room in case I added more racks attachments or wheel holders in the center section. The front is fine without mods.

 

Huh. I just moved my rear bar a bit farther back and no issues...

 

I bought the Thule with two bike trays, no problem here.
