Steptron Trans clunks down into 4th can it be fixed

At 100k my steptronic started to clunk down shifting into 4th. If I'm careful a slight blip will minimize the effect.

Any solutions or recommendations?

I am just curious, what is the slight blip? Is it something you do intentionally or an anomaly from the car or drivetrain?

at 100k i would suspect its a secondary effect of something else that needs maintenance... not necessarily the tranny itself suddenly developing this problem. maybe throttle response is compromised by plugs, air filter, maf/map sensor, maybe an o2 sensor causing some odd responses before it throws a code... that's just my initial thought

maybe some background on the general repair of the car, maintenance history, the MOST RECENT changes made would be most helpful.

when I drop into 4th, I increase the throttle a bit. I also notice if i accelerate when going into 4th it shifts smoothly.

As far as maintenance goes, it has relatively new plugs and an O2 sensor and appears to be running smoothly.

just curious, how much did the dealer charge you for the tranny flush?

check your tranny/engine mounts/bushings. could be causing a problem. replace with powerflex if your so inclined. reset your ecu, might help. make sure your plugs aren't worn out, and that your air filter isn't covered with dust. you never know...
