F56 Gen3 Help

I have a 2017 F56 two door/hatchback and want a specific part but can't find the part on line. It may not exist. I was sent the wrong item, twice by Mini Parts Direct (boy are they screwed up ! )

What I'm looking for is the Rear hatch grip handle in CHROME....and no the car doesn't have a back up camera.

MPD sent me 51-13-7-362-121 (twice) but it was the standard black handle. Does anyone out there have a chrome handle on their car?

Does anyone know the correct part number?

Anyone have one for sale.....or one one in Black that I could paint body color???

twice wrong

twice ordered under that part number ( 51-13-7-362-121) ......twice it came in black..............that's what I'm trying to figure out.........could be a glitch in the master catalog listing. I need to find someone who has actually gone thru this before.

well that maybe proof it exists......maybe Mini Parts Direct are just everyday idiots and messed up their part numbers.....I'm going to Orlando on Monday on a Beer run so, I'll do a dealer stop by and get to the bottom of this....I'm thinking Mini Parts Direct just shoved any old part in a box and shipped it.....That sucks...and they did it twice and they even lied about giving me credit for the return....I had to dispute the transaction on my credit card to get credited. Lying bastards. FYI the guy I dealt with is named " Nathan" he's a real negative to that company....I'd fire his *** if I was in charge over there. Avoid this company and you'll avoid a lot of stress.

Why not keep one of the wrong black ones and take it to a vinyl shop and have them wrap it in chrome vinyl

that doesn't make sense

i could have my black one wrapped...and not spend any extra money

besides....wrapped looks wrapped

It is year/model specific if I recall. Do a site search on it like on Mini of Kennesaw parts (with details and illustrations/what it fits). Try different years of the "F" series. "R'[ will not fit. Actually, "wrapped" chrome, if done properly is better than "factory" plated.

plate vs wrap

I know a bit about plating having owned a plating factory for over 25 years....the process is actually called vacuum plating and it is far superior to any vinyl wrap. A wrap is a very thin product where as vacuum plating is a relatively thick product and will hold up much much much longer (and can even be polished if it ever dulls.)...I'm sure you have seen smashed plastic parts where the finish flakes off in razor sharp pieces. That's vacuum plating (sometimes called "metalizing") and you can see how thick it is. thicker is better.


I'll be at my dealer tomorrow or tuesday, and I'll post correct part numbers for the chrome and the black items, to end the confusion that seems to be out there.

How about plating it then? Thinking about doing the MINI logos in black nickel or black chrome.

Went to Dealer

I went to my dealer today and....Here are the correct part numbers according to Mini of Orlando....

Black # 51-13-7-362-120
Chrome # 51-13-7-362-121

FYI: on line price for chrome was $91.78.........Orlando mini was $146.55 (ouch)......thats 63% Higher !!!!
