2017 F56 Justa Scheduled Maintenance Distance Displayed
Hi,
I have a 2017 Justa and just turned 10k kms. I know that scheduled maintenance on these cars is every 12k kms (the time frame is a non-issue as I drive over 25k kms per year).
The problem occurs when I start the car. The speedometer displays +3800 kms to the next maintenance. Shouldn't it display +2000 kms?
TIA

If you drive all highway longer trips vs. local short trips the miles at which oil changes called for will vary. Long trips = longer time with oil. That is what CBS is all about. It monitors sensors, etc. and uses algorithms to figure it all out. Often times they get it wrong and have had to update the software to fix errors.
I prefer the old fashioned 3,000 - 5,000 miles change oil maintenance plan.

Times have changed. Changing oil every 3-5k is what I did on my 1972 VW Bug.

LOL, two sane people on the NAM site.
I'm guessing that Conrad does a lot of long distance highway miles which means longer oil change intervals. Can't fault him for that and the proof is that his car is performing with 160,000+ miles.
I on the other hand do 90% stop and go local driving so 5,000 mile oil changes are the norm, which works out to approximately once a year. Maybe I'm crazy but it makes me feel better.
I also don't trust the warning system built into the MINI. Last time the brake warning light came on I had thousand of miles left on the pads. MINI said oops, reprogramming needed.

I think 11k miles (17k kms) is a bit much for the first oil change as the engine is new. I think I'll go with the recommended 12k kms schedule the first time and then follow the OBC after that.
Thanks again.
