Mini Cooper f56 2018 coilovers Help

Hey guys! New to community! I just purchased a 2018 f56 Mini Cooper S! I daily it Monday - Friday and I’m lookin for coilovers! I don’t track it, but I do get on it on the freeway with other cars. I’m lookin for a decent pair that are adjustable so when I get wheels I can adjust it accordingly. Any help would be great 🙏🏻 Price range is around a grand.

Pretty sure you will get a few "opinions" here but with that price range you are down in the Megan range and remember you will need links and adjustable rear bars to handle the extra camber. Actually a much cheaper option is a thicker rear sway bar.

You would be surprised how well a MINI handles bone stock.

Yo, Whine, is extra camber mandatory? What if you drop it just a tiny bit? I'm thinking about could in the far future and never considered this. Thanks.

I added B14 coils on mine and dont regret it one bit. I like you daily it and they are such a great setup for this.

I also did a lot of chassis stiffening so im sure that helps with handling as well.

Personally, I dont think camber plates are needed if its a DD

Do not need front camber plates as the suspension will compensate for the lowering, but may need longer links. On the back I don't know enough about the Gen3s on whether there is adjustment in the stock control arm to handle a drop more that 3/8".

We've installed several different brands now and have to say out of all of them we have liked the KW V2 the best so far. They still ride great, and actually give the car more soul and feel without being harsh.

We have also done the actual JCW coilovers that are made by KW and don't have the rebound adjustment. They also rode well and good value for the money, we just prefer going with the rebound adj so we can dial it in.

Also when doing the coilovers it's easy to add a rear sway bar

When I installed my NM springs they lowered the car ~1.5”. After 100 miles of driving to give them a chance to settle I had the alignment checked. Everything was still within spec. When I replaced that setup with BC Racing coil overs the alignment needed to be tweaked slightly. At the time I installed the springs and other suspension parts I went ahead and installed a set of NM adjustable rear control arms, but didn’t actually need to adjust anything until the BC installation. Also, with the NM springs I used the stock front links. The BC’s came with shorter links.

Thank you guys for the info! I’ve decided to just get springs, upgraded shocks, sway bars and control arms! I’m thinking that will be enough protection on my suspension for a daily since I’m not tracking it haha.

You will enjoy that immensely.

While all the parts are off, consider upgraded end links. You will be amazed how flimsy the stock ones are compared to the NM ones I am other have.

If those are the ones I think they are, “flimsy” means “made of plastic”. Rugged plastic, but still plastic. Dear BMW: why did you do that?!

how is rear rebound adjustment done on the KW's after installed? does the damper need to be removed every time to adjust or is there a secret area in the trunk or something where you can access the ****?

The front is adjusted right under the hood. The rear, you would need to remove the shock. I've heard that you can make holes in the trunk panels, and add KW's extensions. I've also heard that there may be some electronics or something in the way- maybe can be relocated? Anyone done this? What length extension?

I have the remote adjusters coming with my new RMW coil overs. No idea about the length, but I’ll let you know once they arrive. Hopefully by mid month.
