Base Cooper with 7.5" wheels

Can someone here with a base Cooper and 7.5", or 8" wheels, please post a pic. I am really wanting to change my wheels, but every new Cooper I see with aftermarket wheels is an S or JCW model. Greatly appreciated.

It wouldn't really look any different than a S with aftermarket wheels

Ok, good to know. I've seen a wheel I like on an S model and it was 18x8.5 and looked good. I would be going 17x8.

just wondering why you didn't opt for an S or JCW. Not being snarky, just wondering. I have a base too.

No worries. Didn't take it in a snarky manner. There are numerous reasons I didn't get an S.

For starters, I got a fantastic deal on my new 2018. I like that it came with just basic stuff. It's the signature model, and I like that it came one way and one way only. I just needed a new daily driver, and since I'm huge Mini fan, this car fit just what I was wanting.

I also like the way that the base models look. I know most will not agree, but it's simple looking, but still has character

I can mod it with a few things and still make it my own; as I'm doing.

Also, I have a Viper, with the purchase of a Lambo this Summer, so I like that this car isn't as Austintacious as the other two. Sometimes you just want a little simplicity.

Anyway, those are the main reasons.

I will say though, since owning it, I've noticed I'm wanting to mod it more than I had intended. LOL

my long time thought was to go for the S, but driving a base automatic, I was impressed. So I leased a manual version, and now I own it. I'd like to see what this car is really about with a few mods. I like the gas mileage too.

what brand tires are you looking at? I need some for my OEM 16" wheels, no run flats. Maybe the Conti extreme contact? Not sure I can pony up for Michelin Pilot sports.

I agree regarding looks, plus the balance feels better with the lighter 3 banger. I kind of miss mine a bit, although I do love the speed of the JCW. Next time around I may go back to the base model.

Not sure yet, as the wheels I want are larger than my current stock 16" wheels. I will be going with 17". As soon as I know for sure what wheels I want, I will figure out the tires.

New wheels ordered! 17x8 Rotiform LAS-R's. Once they arrive, I will have them powder coated a custom color.

My new wheels arent here yet, so I cant check, but does anyone know if with my new 17x8 wheels, if I can still use my stock lug bolts, or do I need to order new ones?

Well, I decided against powdercoating for now, as the black ones kept calling my name. They showed up today. Just waiting on TPS sensors, correct ball seat lug bolts and tires to get here. Should all be here by Saturday. Will post pics after they're mounted.

Here you go. This is where I purchased them from. They took a few days to ship, but they were here within 1 day of shipment. So that surprised me. Also, free shipping if domestic.

Those are beautiful! Love the color. Fingers crossed that they don't rub... too much =)

What ball seat bolts did you get? When I searched, I couldn't find any that were 14x1.25. I ended up getting these:

https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...-seat-adapter/

I also got bolts from ECS that are like 2-3mm longer, since these are about that thick, but I don't know how totally necessary that is.

I spoke to UROTuning before ordering the ball seat lug bolts, as I wasn't exactly sure which ones to get that would work with the wheels. After talking to them, they suggested that 12x1.5 28MM would work best. I guess we'll see.

Oh that’s pretty lame of them... those won’t work at all. I think that’s the size of the previous minis. F56 is totally different. You’re gonna need those adapters I linked.

The lug bolts I ordered ARE ball seat. Not conical.

Ok, I just did some checking around. You're right, 14x1.25 isn't available, and if they are, no one carries them. So what you're saying with the link below, is to get those adapters and I can just use my stock lug bolts with the wheels? If so, I'm just going to order them.
