F55/F56 2016 mini cooper base 3 cylinder 1.5L engine oil

2016 mini cooper base 3 cylinder 1.5L engine oil

Hi guys, I am about to do my first engine oil change, and can some one please tell me how many quarts doesn't the 3 cylinder engine takes? Mine is 2016 Mini Cooper base 2 door hardtop. Thanks you!

In your other post I recommended you call your dealers service dept. Crazy that the oil capacity is not in the manual.

Did some research, it should be 4.5 to 5 quarts

Just put exact 5 quarts in to my 2016 Mini Cooper base computer reads this (see pic). Is it perfect or I should fill the bar all the way up?

Since the spec is just under 4.5 quarts. I'd be sure the oil has had a chance to drain to the pan and you are parked on level ground.

There was a campaign to remove engine oil decals from engine bays of all 2014/2015 models. So far no new decals have been issued.

And pretty sure the 2016 F models have engine oil decals...Think it reads reads 0W-20, maybe OP can check theirs. Decal should be on engine cover.

I see people saying 4.5 is not enough on this forum. And they end up using 5
