I HATE sunroofs, bmw forces me to have them, and mini basically does too
But on high speed it might looks as if your MINI has ****, but i like this quick action as well !

You can delete the sunroof from packages.

Not worth the $$. Many reports of rattles and opening/closing issues. Heats up the interior. Reduced head room.

Wouldn't have a Mini without one. Love it most in the winter. They do need a solid shade though; the mesh is not adequate for hot climates.

Non of my three cars have sunroofs, BMW M4, Mini GP2 or JCW CM. I like the extra headroom, lower center of gravity, lighter weight, cooler temps, less noise and cleaner lines. mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

I live in South Florida and this is my fourth MINI. All have had sunroofs and I wouldn't have it any other way. No issues with leaking, squeaking, noise, heat, etc.

I bought my 2006 R50 in Toronto, flew there and drove it back. It was a dealer car, and they were doing some upgrades like adding cruise control, they were struggling!

I got a loner 2007 R56 with a sunroof. It was a heat-wave, 40'C + (104'F), clear blue skies, 16 hour days [Weekend of August 3, 2007]. It was like being in a terrarium. Unrelenting.

I absolutely love my sunroof. I can understand why some people want the solid screens though. I live in Colorado and it's sunny and clear most of the time, but the summers never get too unbearably hot... If they do, it doesn't usually last for more than a couple of days.

The sunroof glass is tinted and I know you can get it tinted ever darker or add on one of the full sunroof decals MINI offers.

IMO, it's actually a good thing that the screens are mesh instead of solid because when my car is parked on warm days, I leave my sunroof tilted open to let heat escape and I pull the screens shut to keep dust, pollen, etc. from getting in on the interior. So the heat still gets out, but none of the dirty stuff gets in.
