F55/56 special order pricing

I was wondering what kind of pricing breaks people get on special order f55s or F56? I could not find anything I wanted, that anyone had in stock within 300 miles of me. I talked them down some on the Special order but I was wondering if I got a good deal, as I don't see a pricing thread like most other car forums.

I've just started shopping new cars. Test drove the Cooper S and JCW recently. Loved both and both are under final consideration to buy. I'll be ordering if I go with a MINI. I haven't gotten into serious discussions over pricing but I was offered $1,000 off MSRP on an order right up front. I get the feeling that I may be able to get a little more. We shall see!

umm yeah I would ask for more.

MSRP on mine was $36,400
I got the out the door cost $32,834 and 0% for 72 months

I am going to ask about the USAA $500 thing I just found out was an option now, I am going to wait for the car to get in before I drop that bomb on them or maybe wait a couple weeks.

I will. Not going to really negotiate price until I'm ready to order. Couple of questions for you. What was the discount off MSRP on your order? Out the door cost is pretty meaningless since we don't know your local tax rates, dealer fees, etc. How did you get 0% financing for 72 months? In Ohio the financing offer through BMW financial services is 0.9 for up to 72 months (if you take delivery by the end of June).

Pricing varies. Some dealerships charge sticker and only offer the incentives offered by Mini at the time.

Most believe they are the only game in town and therefore have the upper hand. If you want a Mini, you pay or price or buy something else. Much depends upon the dealership and their sales staff.

The latest hook is "Sonic Pricing". Don't know much abut it but assume it works similar to "True Car".

No tax or tag fee for me it is all done at the DMV in MO.

Cooper S 4 door
Moonwalk Grey metallic w/ Black Roof and Mirror Caps
Black Bonnet StripesCarbon Black Leatherette
Automatic Transmission
17" Cosmos Spoke Black Wheels w/ All-season tires

Cold Weather package
Fully Loaded Package
Wired Upgrade
Parking Assistant
Active Driving Assistant
LED Headlights with Cornering Lights

MSRP $36,400
Paying $32,834
So he took $2,566 off and then the $1000 promotion going on for a total of $3,566 off total then I am going to try for the extra $500 USAA.

Shop around some charge MSRP and some under. Don't be afraid to shop out of state.

I did, I don't like my local dealership they were kind of rude to me, and seemed snobby, I even asked them what kind of discounts off of special order they said none and said they don't need to. I did my whole deal over email at a dealership 160 miles away, sales manager was super nice and straight forward.

ok, good, yea you have to shop around , sometimes the locals dont have the best deals but if you go back to them they might work with you. Sometimes MINI has special financing, and sometimes money off like dealership local deals and global dealers emailed from participating in local dealership events, parties, launch parties. Like for the last one some had deals for the New Clubman.

Keep in mind incentives from MINI are only valid when picking up the car and NOT when you place the order. MINI typically changes the incentives every month so it's really hard to know what they'll offer 1-2 months later when you pick up your ordered car. This is why some dealers won't negotiate much on orders.

Pricing

So I just ordered my Mini a few days ago with an agreed upon price with the dealer, not using any mini incentives since the current one will be expired by the time I receive the car. So does this mean when I pick up the car I could get more money off depending on what Mini is offering at that time? Or will the dealership try to stick with the already agreed upon price, although only the deposit has changed hands?

If there are any incentives when you pick up the car, make sure to bring it up. I imagine they will try and stick with the price quoted, but since you haven't bought anything yet, make sure you know what promotions are running before you go in. Most dealers will work with you, especially if there are incentives from the factory.

That's the way I understand it too, you get the promotion that is active when you pickup, but I think it really depends on the dealer. My dealer is pretty awesome and we have an agreed upon price with promotions and taking delivery this week and we have recently talked price so I am assuming he is going to honor it no matter what. I think a lot depends on the dealer.

I ordered on 4/16, the first day of the $1,000 factory money promotion. My deal was agreed upon in advance by email with a $2,500 discount ($1,500 from the dealer and $1,000 factory money) to my MSRP, which came out to $31,200. Before you guys harp on the fact that I needed to take delivery during the promotion to receive the factory money, the dealer made it happen (don't ask me how) and I have paperwork with actual prices for the total cost of the car. They did tell me when I ordered that a normal discount to MSRP was $1,000 for cars on the lot, with a $500 discount on ordered cars, so I think I got a really good deal. I think some of that has to do with the fact that hardtop sales have been absolutely terrible so far in 2016, so they are making deals.

My advice would be to email around to any dealer within 500 miles of you and see who will make the best deal. That worked for me.

And in case you are wondering about timing, my car was ordered on 4/16, "born" on 4/29 and is currently on its way to Barcelona before coming to Galveston. Looks like I will take delivery right at 7 weeks from ordering, within the 6-8 weeks my dealer quoted.

Mine is in Baltimore and I guess not due to the dealer until the 19th, I ended up $31459 w/ USAA and the extra $875 (test drive promotion) would have been $1000 but missed the date and dealer split the difference since he kind of promised delivery by May. I feel pretty good MSRP is $36,400 so pretty much $4050 off which is 13.6% off msrp and the 0% for 72. Plus my dealer is great to deal with, only wish he was in town.

Definitely take the advice about reaching out to dealers within driving distance because it might be well worth it, like my deal, the 180 mile drive for 5k compared to 1k at most local would do. Plus I get to get acquainted to the car and play with things for a couple hours. Next Saturday cant get here fast enough hard not to speed on the way up there!!!

For $4000 off I could order one out of state, pay the shipping fee ($1500 across the continent) and still get a better deal than at the local dealer.

Mini of Omaha, hope he is OK with me saying it because I know he gets on here sometimes. But he was awesome to deal with and been nothing but helpful. I was not going to get one and just wait until I started working with him, it was not all about price but he was friendly and great on price.

word of mouth can make or break a business. I'm sure they won't mind at all that you told everyone they're awesome.

They were awesome and I only had to go there to sign the paperwork and pickup the car. The deal was so good because he gave me a mad discount along with a couple Mini promotions going on at the time. I ended up picking it up before the 15th so I got the whole 1k off. They received it Saturday morning at like 9:30 they Sales manager called me and texted me a picture of it fresh off the truck. I was up there by 1:30 ish it was pdied and ready to go. I was gone by about 3pm after a short test drive. Could not have asked for a better experience. Only wish they were closer to my house.

I will have to take some pics after I tint the windows this week.

OK so update, picked up a week ago and have loved every minute. It showed up before the 15th so I got it for $31,325, but I realized it didn't have the cell phone docking in it per the build tool, but didn't realize it until I got home. Emailed the dealer pics of it and ask how they can install it afterwards and he spoke with Mini they said said they discontinued it in March and sorry, but they gave me $500 since I was kind of promised it. So in the end $30,825 is the Final cost on a $36,545 (they added all weather mats) I feel like I got a hell of a deal, and don't think I would ever be able to duplicate it so I have to keep this car for atleast 10 years. Pictures as promised.

Looks great! I'm looking forward to my F55 which is at sea and should be in my hands in the first couple weeks of July! I plan on keeping mine for 10 years as well, which is how old my current R50 is.

I was told I'd get any incentives that are in place when my car makes landfall, so I am hoping I get a July 4th special! But I did get a really good deal too so no big deal either way.

Mine is a manual Cooper S, electric blue, black bonnet stripes, black JCW side stripes, white roof with sunroof, white mirrors, black victory spoke wheels.

I'm getting almost the works aside from the driver assistance package (no adaptive cruise control, park assist etc). I am getting the XL nav screen, adaptive dampers, power side mirrors, black pearl seats, JCW wheel, maybe something else I forgot...

Do you have any of those features?

I got Fully loaded with Driver assit and park assit, cold weather and wired plus or whatever it is called.

I got everything electronic minus Homelink mirror (kinda wish I would have but $250 for a garage door opener is lunacy) and Rear fogs (eh). Didn't do any cosmetics or interior changes.

I am very happy with the build does it have more than I need, probably but I have always wanted a car with no blanks where you are missing features I almost accomplished this but windshield heater button is blank but not avl in US.
