What wheels have you had good or bad success with?
I was given the following advice.......................

So I decided to take it.

Thanks for the link. Theres a reason I asked the question though. And Ive read that epic thread filled with tons of info. But most of it doesnt pertain to the question I actually asked. I was hoping youd tell me YOUR good bad wheels. And I was HOPING it would go simple, like X brand = good/ or X brand = bad. So do you think its possible to edit your post and answer the question I asked? Thanks in advance.
I've had no issues with the Assetta Gara. They're actually for sale now that I think about it, as I'm being a silly sh*t and spending stupid money to go even lighter (with the OZ Ultraleggera).
I've had lots of "luck" with several different off-brand alloy wheels from Tire Rack: MSW, Sparco, Anzio.
I only buy extra wheels to run in winter though. I'm not sure what real issues you can have with a wheel other than smashing into a curb or pothole and I wouldn't blame any wheels for failing in those circumstances.
I don't mind offering up suggestions but I need to know what your budget is and what you plan do do with the car on the new wheels. If you plan to autox or track it or just daily street use etc.

My budget is irrelevant, Ill spend what I need to spend, and if I think its to much I wont.
Daily street, and maybe some track and auto X down the road.
Ill check out HRE. Im guessing they are spendy, since you asked that budget question and mentioned "build you a set". We might have found the "if I think its to much I wont" wheels.
edit
I just checked out HREs. They dont make anything for the Mini in anything smaller than 19", so they are out anyway. I dont like the looks of wheels bigger than 18". I might not want anything bigger than 17".
edit
Ive seen 3 mentions for Volks in the other thread. Im gonna check them out.

That is not true, HRE makes wheels for mini in sizes 18" and 17". They custom make wheels to fit cars. Trust me on this one.
O.K. I just went by their website.
Lets say................. How about we take custom made wheels out of the equation.
In fact Ive decided I do have a budget. Im not going to spend over, lets say 1500$ for a set.
in that budget I'd stick to Enkei, OZ, or even NM Engineering if buying new. If you don't mind used then jump on vwvortex and go to the 5x112 section for a browse.
Yep Im gonna go with one of the three eventually I think. I really like the first one. I think I asked someone in the F56 pic thread about that first one. I like it. Looked good on that red car too.
