Turn Signal LED Bulb replacement

I have the LED headlights, but I believe the turn signals in those headlights are still halogen.

ECU do you have any LED PWY24W bulbs?

Yep, still halogen. Make sure if you do replace them with LEDs though, grab CANBUS LEDs or you will get bulb out warnings all the time and/or hyperflashing or strobing. Alternatively, if you get into ESYS and coding, you can code the bulb checks out. That's the route I took.

I grabbed some CREE LED bulbs off eBay that do the trick. Brightest ones I could find.

I have some side blinker leds installed that are advertised as CANBUS. The right blinker hyperblinks, the seller is sending me a replacement bulb, we'll see if that fixes it.

Is hyperblinking something that I can code out?

Yes. ESYS has a parameter for calling out LED lights that will eliminate strobing or hyperflashing.

I don't have the cheat sheet I used to have but it's in the FRM or BDC module.

I think these are the parameters for the front turn signals. There are three for each bulb. One to turn off cold check, one to turn off warm checks, and one to specify LEDs. I don't know if all three are required, but I know I switched all three and I don't get strobing or bulb out warnings with non-CANBUS LED bulbs.

Yeah, those parameters look more familiar - the ones I posted must be from a BMW.

Worked like a charm. Hyperblink is eliminated.

how the heck do You even get to that indicator bulb? I have the LED headlights too... is that mean I have to take out the whole light out to get access to that bulb?

Change your front turn signal bulb

Since I don't think anyone has answered. Let's say your replacing the front drivers side turn signal bulb. It's inside the headlight housing. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. (If lowered, you might have to jack the car, or take off the front wheel.) Looking at the drivers side front wheel, there is a round panel at the 10 o'clock position. Twist that a quarter turn (Lefty loosy) and if you look in, you will be looking at another twist cap cover which is located at the bottom of the headlight assembly. Unscrew the bottom cover of the headlight assembly, and then you can reach in and pull out the turn signal bulb.

Since this thread is back from the dead.... can you please clarify if this is for the turn signals in the headlights or if this is for the side scuttle turn signals. I'm having hyperflash issues with supposedly CANBUS LED side scuttle indicators. Pretty sure I already tried the above and the hyperflashing didn't stop.

This is to set all the bulbs to led and turns off the warming checks. This is auf Deutsch, but it's the same settings listed in the bimmercode body domain controller, bdc menu.

I too put LED Turn Signal Bulbs in from LASFIT with Canbus and unfortunately still get the strobing effect with the coding. Anyone? Thoughts?
