Seems like when I had my 2012 Countryman that condensation would disappear quickly after starting. My new 2015 JCW takes 20-30 minutes before the condensation disappears. So I'm wondering if mine are warming up. I'll have to feel them in the morning. Thanks
I feel like they should be tied to the temp.. Why should they be on all the time and burn out? I used to leave them on on my passat all the time (i can't believe VW still makes you manually activate them on the mirror toggle) and the dealer said that this would wear the heating elements out
I felt the mirrors this morning a few minutes after starting and after a 35 minute drive and it never felt warm at all. Now I'm wondering if it is supposed to turn on when the heater is on or if mine are just broke. We all know what MINI says in the manual isn't always right.

I wonder if they are tied to the rear defroster. Most japanese cars do this. Turn on the rear defroster and see if it does it after a few minutes
On the older MINI you had to have the cold weather package on the F56 I believe its standard. But they do come on when you start up the car , its a faint heat. Very light on the f56 , on my R52 Gen 1 it gets pretty warm, but not hot.
Heated Side Mirrors
Standard on all MINIs, heating elements embedded in the side mirrors automatically heat up when you turn your MINI on, to melt away ice and snow, and give you a clear view of what's beside and behind you.
They don't appear to be tied to the rear defroster. I had it on until it turned off and never even got faintly warm.
Yeah I tried it too to no avail. However, I cannot get mine to ever get warm. It was pouring and freezing the other night, and they were cool to the touch on multiple touching attempts throughout the night..
