How to store addresses in NAV system

Just wondering if anyone knows how to store common destinations in the GPS (Eg, home, work etc..)?

I'm currently just scrolling through the list of previous destinations but surely there's a more efficient way?

You have to store the addresses one by one as you use them. You can't import a list from your phone. When you select an address to navigate to, it asks you to store and start navigation.

Couple different ways:
-To store your HOME address, go to the Navigation main menu and select ADDRESS BOOK
- Select CHECK MY CONTACTS
- The very first entry will be "Home"; select this
- Select "New Address"; you don't need to fill anything else
- Input your home address as usual
- Store as "Home" or "Business";
- Select "Store Contact In Vehicle"
- Done!
- Now, if you ever need to route home, hit the Voice Command button on the steering wheel and use the command, "Take me home", then say, "Start Guidance" when prompted. Boom. Handsfree routing home. When you know where you're going, use the voice command, "Stop guidance"

- To store any other address and save it in your Address Book for quick access later, from the Navigation main menu, go to ENTER ADDRESS
- Enter and address like you normally would, but before going to Confirm, press the OPTION button by the iDrive controller and select STORE ADDRESS (or something like that...don't remember exactly...)
- You should see a name entry and an option that says "New Address". Select that. It should populate the address you entered earlier.
- Fill in the name fields. You can just do First Name if you want.
- Save it and now it will show up in the ADDRESS BOOK from the Navi main menu.
OR
- You can go to your navigation history if you've entered it before, highlight the address you want to save and hit the OPTION button then. This will save you the step of re-entering the address.

I've tried to follow these instructions and none of these menus are as described. I can get and save home but it only stores the city. I'd there any way to delete past destinations? Or stored home address?
Any help with the above would be helpful. Thanks.

To delete address from the last destinations list, highlight them, then hit the OPTION button on the iDrive controller - there should be a delete entry option.

Thanks. Finally after playing for hours have the home address stored.*
Very cool when you say "take me home" and the directions and map for home appear. Going to explore the voice commands more...

Some useful voice commands I use:
"take me home" followed by, "Start navigation" when prompted - handsfree navigating

"voice instructions on/off"

"Stop navigation" - when you get somewhere and you know where you're going

Voice Nav Question

Great thread! Reading this I finally figured out how to store addresses. Now I have a voice question regarding those stored locations.

So now that I have "home" stored, I can simply use the voice command to say "take me home" or "navigate home" - works great.

I also have an address stored as "Work" - but with voice command I can't seem to say "take me to work" or "navigate to work" - when I do it just takes me to the address input screen and asks for house number, city, state, zip.

Does the "take me to..." only work for home?

Thanks!
