2015 S sway bar

Does Mini offer a beefed up sway bar for a 2015 F-56 or do you have to go aftermarket? What sway bar do the experts recommend and after install is any alignment needed?

I don't intend to track but I would like a more flat experience in the corners. The R56's we used to have were very flat in the corners.

I have not really modded any of my cars before but this mod seems like one that I would want to do on my car.

Can someone help me out with this effort please?

Thanks

2015 S sway bar

MINI doesn't offer one that I'm aware of. It seems most choose NM's sway bar for the F56. Looks to be a pretty straight forward install. It's my understanding that an alignment is not needed.

Only thicker sway bar on F56 is the one that came with Sports suspension when it was offered. Now you can only get that in the factory JCW with sports suspension. NM sway bar is only one I have found so far...

MINI doesn't offer any different bar for the F56, but like others we have been using the NM bar and stock it. It's by far the best upgrade for the suspension you can do.

Is this a simple bolt off, bolt on affair that does not need any expertise? I'm pretty sure I have the tools to do it but I haven't really done any wrenching in years. I have jack stands to get the car up off the floor. Think a neophyte can do it with no issues?

There are some youtube videos on the install process. Seems like a reasonably handy guy/gal can do it. As long as working off the floor is no problem.

Since I'm not very familiar with this upgrade other than what it tries to achieve in helping stay flat around the corners, I'm curious is this negatively impacts the ride at all?

What's the difference between this and the sport suspension sway bar?

They are both 22mm, however the sport sway bar is hollow and NM's is solid. You can also adjust NM's to your liking.

For my 2007 MCS I had Way Motorworks install a 19mm rear bar which was great. They charged $200 for the bar and $100 labor. It's a little thicker than the sport suspension bar. I have the sport suspension on my 2014 JCW Coupe and it's fine IMO. The stock F56 suspension is pretty floaty, I drove my friend's a lot recently. I'd definitely either get the stock SS or an aftermarket rear ASB if I had that car. I doesn't affect the ride, only the cornering. It reduces the understeer that's inherent in the suspension. The F56 has a lot of it. And it's not a bolt on either. You'd better know what you're doing and have another person if you do it yourself.

Thanks for the advice. I looked at a video of the change on an R56. I would assume the process is much the same for the F56, and your right. I don't think I would want to tackle that myself. My son is a really good wrench but I think I would rather pay to have it installed. Now to find someone in the Seattle/Tacoma area that I trust to do it.

That could prove to be a challenge in itself.

Thanks again.

It's still pretty simple as it's similar to doing the R56 bar so most people can DIY it.

So the 22mm NM makes a difference with a 2015 justa? I'm interested but leasing. Probably a dumb investment.

It's not hard, it's not easy. If you're not a DIY'er, I don't recommend trying to do it yourself.
