My First MINI, I purchased it site unseen almost a month ago, got it yesterday....

So here it is, my first MINI, its a 2014 Cooper S. I was looking and looking and found this beauty tucked away on a car lot in Lexington, Kentucky. Car fax (and salesman) said it was there for 6 months.
It was sitting on a large Ford Dealership lot in the used car section that I believe did not know anything about MINI's at all. They did not do their homework on it. Their advertisement did not state anything about the car. The left out the paddle shifters, the harmon kardon stereo, the Nav XL, the folding mirrors, the heated seats, the JWC Steering Wheel, that crazy interior lighting, the personal color choice interior thing (white), the Cloth/Leatherette Seats, nothing. NONE of this was in their advertisement when I found it. All it said was MINI Cooper S, the mileage and the price along with a few bad photos.

Their Original asking price was 28K, then after a few months on the lot they lowered it a few thousand, it still did not sell, so after a few more months they lowered it a few thousand more. That is when I spotted it. I requested a bunch of better photos and peppered the salesman with questions. All the answers and photos came back positive so we started to negotiate. After a few days of haggling I closed on the car for $20,400 cash. I requested and got a complete buff, wax and polish before I had it picked up by a trucking company who took 10 days to haul it out to San Diego where it was dropped off at my front door yesterday. Cost of the Trucking Co was $1000.00 (cash!) So, all in, the car cost me just under $21,500 (not counting tax and license of course).

There are just over 15K miles on the odometer and it is pristine inside and out. I could find 1 hairline scratch on the hood, maybe it happened in transit, not sure but I think a clay bar will take care of that too. We shall see. The inside is perfect, no stains, scratches, rips on the seats, nothing. Looks as if it is brand new. Definitely the original owner was a non-smoker.

It drives fantastic, it is strong, quick, responsive and very solid. It has no vibrations of any kind that I can feel or hear. All in all, I am pretty dam happy. It has everything I really wanted; the Nav XL, paddle shifters and double moon-roof were all must haves, the rest are extras. Would have loved the back up cam but heck, I can live without it.

MINI of San Diego says my warranty is valid until April of 2018.

Woohoo! My FIRST MINI, I am now officially in da club!

what do you all think?????

Sounds like a great deal to me. I wish I had only paid that much for mine.

I think you got the deal of the century! Those seats alone were a $800 option here in Canada (left off my order) and should breathe so much better on hot days than leatherette or animal flesh. Sheesh, Ford people - all they care about is moving F150's and Mustangs...

+1 for Thunder Gray! Love that color. Looks like you got a great deal on your new MINI. Any future plans for mods? Hope you enjoy it!

Congrats. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on it. I bet that car was over $30k new. Like I said to the other person who just bought a new PW one if you have the standard suspension invest in a 19mm rear antisway bar, it will improve the cornering without affecting the ride. Should cost about $300.

Very nice, and great deal. I got the deal of the century on my new 2015 F56, and you got the deal of the century on your 2014 F56!

There's a couple of very active groups of Mini owners here in San Diego. Send me a PM if you're interested and cant 't find any info online.

I'm on my second Mini (both bought new), and I suspect you will be driving your current Mini or another one for quite some time -- i.e. you sound hooked
