I've been hearing a creaking sound from my front end at low speeds, always when I make a turn. It sounds a bit like bending a thin piece of metal. It only makes the sound when I make a turn from a stop sign or when I back out of my driveway and then turn the wheels. Any ideas what this is? 2014 Base MINI Hatchback, automatic and 16" wheels.
My 2014 hardtop does this too. Happens when making sharp left turns. I took it to the Dealer twice. They tighten some bolt on the front struts and its fixed for awhile then slowly comes back. For me the issue only happens when its cold out. Ill be complaining about it again next time im in for an oil change.
Mine actually had the creaking in the right front as well. Brought it in and they said there was a bulletin for adding additional lubrication to the rubber boot at the perch. They applied the lubrication and so far so good - creak is gone.
Mine is doing this as well, haven't paid attention to which side it's coming from. It's only at low speeds, usually while backing. I'll be bringing it up when I go in for next service.
I found the source of the creak (in my car at least)!! There is a silicone tube that covers part of the spring in the front end. If the spring is set too low, it will cause a creak. Simply routing it upwards a bit so that it starts at the top at the 1 full 360 degree mark of the first coil, creak disappeared!! Moved the silicone tube lower and creak came back... At least for me, this was the source of my issue.

This happened to me before when I first put them on. Is there anyway to prevent the silicone sleeve from sliding down or do I just have to readjust it every 2000 miles?

Good question. Mine don't slide down that often, but when I rotate my tires I make sure to re-adjust to be safe.

Hey! I think mine makes a rubber noise when I turn left from the stop when in 1st or second gear. Basically a start to accelerate into the left turn and release gas pedal and noise is heard. I did capture the creaking noise.
Did anyone have this happen or fixed? https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...46664-9999.pdf
