This can't be good !

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...utomakers.html

This just makes me rethink what I have done as coming from BMW to back to Mini and after reading all the issues (a lot) on this form. Mini here lately is starting to get a bad rap with lots of car issues ..... Im sure this will ruffle a few feathers but Im sure this is no conspiracy against Mini Maybe BMW needs to light a fire under Mini's A$$ just my .02 I guess time will tell as I will be turning in my BMW X1 35I in two weeks for what I have hoped to be a replacement of fun driving and a dependable car that can get me from point A to B with if any Hiccups.....

I'm not seeing any new information here that hasn't been mentioned before...

And the jury is still out on future F-model MINI reliability.

JD power is useless. This isn't the number of mechanical or electrical failures per 100 vehicles. It could be the number of people that can't connect their bluetooth device easily because they didn't read the manual.

You're right. MINI was getting beat up on the voice recognition in the gen2 cars so they disabled it. Here what they look at:

This.

JD Power's initial quality tests can earn manufacturers poor scores because people don't know how to operate the windows (2nd gen MINIs anyone?) or set up Bluetooth or any number of small things that have NOTHING to do with the reliability of the car. Know why they relocated the window controls from the toggles in the center stack to the door? JD Power - because it was a big complaint among customers and it was dinging them on IQS scores. MINIs have never been easy to figure out for everyone. They have quirks and idiosyncrasies, but once you "get" them, you love it.

F56 cars have their own set of new technologies that need to be properly explained to customers as they get their cars:
- The Auto Start/Stop system
- Automatic Curb Monitor
- Opening the hood (2x pulls on the F56)
- Operating the headunits

MINI is pushing dealers to explain these things when delivering cars - that's partly why they've launched the MINI Genius role and the Second Date program and have added questions to the CSI surveys specifically addressing deliveries to hold the dealers accountable.

Yeah, when I got my 2007 MCS I drove it with the windows up for like 2 weeks before I could find the toggle switches. At first I thought they just didn't roll down but then I said "nobody would make a car like that right?"

Ironically, my biggest current complaint is that I keep reaching for the center stack to roll my windows down on my F55! Still used to my CM!

I agree with the above comments about uninformed owners. Me? No complaints after a year with my '14 MCS. No issues, either.
