Yeah supposedly the 2020+ ones turn it back on automatically. Our 2019 just takes a single toggle and it remembers the setting.

 

In my 2022 JCW Auto, I just drive in manual all the time. The start stop only works in normal and green mode in auto transmission mode. I like the 8sp auto, but I like the control of manual shifting.

 

You are supposed to use premium gas. The very mildly tuned 189 hp 2.0 turbo in the S should not need premium.

 

Yeah, a lot of cars, like Porsche Cayman don't have dipsticks. By the way, a C8 Corvette does have a dipstick.

 

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this:
Put the tach somewhere that you can read it....and generally drive by it. Swapping the tach and speedo would be fine with me.
Wouldn't mind a little more noise from the engine...tough to hear your shift point.
I've got a 19 and do love it but I'm not sure anyone is going to want to own it 15 years from now when all of the electrics start going crazy

I bought it for $16.6 w/40,500mi. put Sirius on it & built a spare, dumped my 18 yr. old Benz for $2200, a few odds & ends. I got $15,7 in a $50K car w/40K mi. yeh, I Lucked Out ! I AIN"T BITCHIN" ABOUT NUTHIN

 

I want the option to turn auto start/stop off as the default setting without having to buy tuning software that i'll only use once.

 

Mine stays whatever setting I have (witch is of course, off position). Yours change to on every time??

 

Everytime I turn it on, the auto start/stop starts at on.

Mine is a 19 and once turned off the auto-stop stays off

 

It seems prior years, you could hold down the auto start/stop, on or off, and the setting would lock.
It does in my 2017.

 

if you get a dongle & bimmerlink on your phone you get a bunch of readings. run it once copy to paper, then stow it in your CC. before I got bimmerlink/dongle I copied it down when it was changed & stowed it for easy access.
