Build Week 7!

Hi everyone!

Just recently became a Mini owner after selling my Beetle, and I've been a Mini forum lurker until now. I haven't seen anyone post about Week 7 Builds, so I figured I'd create this thread. My 4-door Mini was built on Feb 10th, so I think that makes it a Week 7 Build?

Anyways, I wanted to see if anyone else - whether week 7 build or not - is still awaiting a ship? I know the length of time waiting at the ports can vary, but I'm starting to get super impatient, as I know we all get.. At least for me, having the 'ability' to track my car makes the anticipation so much worse.

My Mini got to the port I believe on Feb 12th, so it's only been a few days, I guess. When I type in my VIN into Cargo on W&W, it still says that it can't be found. My Mini will be going to Brunswick, GA, and I'm seeing that the K-LINE also goes to GA?? If that's the case, I'm hoping that my Mini is about to get on a K-LINE ship (even though that's harder to track), because there's one coming tomorrow. ASK MINI robots, Owner's Lounge, and the actual ASK MINI people know nothing still, other than that I'm still awaiting a vessel.

Oh, and my biggest question currently: Is ANYONE ELSE having issues getting the tracking on W&W to work? It was working fine on my phone and computers until Saturday, but now it sits on the tracking screen forever after I input a VIN. Then, it usually times out.

AHHHH!!

AHHHH!! Is anyone else from around my build week still awaiting a ship, or have any of your Minis actually made it on one yet?
Congrats, and enjoy the wait: desire is an underrated emotion.

Yep. Hasn't been working for me since Saturday. My mini is currently floating around the Atlantic somewhere on the FAUST.

TERRORISTS. They want our MINIs. Or for us to not have them. Whichever is worse.

Thanks, Helix13mini!

SomeguyinTO - That is so exciting - except not about the site not working (although I'm glad I'm not alone)! When did your car make it to the port?

It was completed on the 2nd of feb. And made it to the port on the 6th. Then picked up on the 9th. Seems to be a 7 day trip to Halifax and then another week or so to get it to the dealer (Toronto). So I'll hopefully have it in the beginning of March

Hello, I'm week 7 also, mini countryman also sitting at the port waiting. I went to the W&W site and got it to work by clicking on the box to the right of the cargo id (multi input) and putting my # in the pop up box. It came back no record found so I guess I'm still waiting. I will ship into the Baltimore port.

Keep in mind that the tracking on WW might not show up until the ship comes to port and after the car is loaded you'll get nothing between departure from Southampton and arrival at your VDC.

If you know which ship it is once it's loaded, you can track the ship's location on marinetraffic.com though for most of the journey.

Thanks, Sirius!

BTW everyone - right after my last post, I went to W&W again (as I do like every 20 min, haha) and the tracking is now working again. My VIN still doesn't pull anything up, but at least the site seems to be back up and running!

Like the 'no records found' thing? Mine too..

I think I liked it better when the site was down! :(

I get the same message too "no records found'. I talked to the 1-866 # yesterday and they said my MINI was waiting for a ship and to call back Wed and maybe they could tell me the name of the ship it was assigned to.

I actually am still getting the Manon ship assignment and then a return to shipper. Since that ship is in the Atlantic now, I'm guessing it'll just stay unedited until the next ship arrives. That will be the Tomar I believe. Later this week.

Ahh! Well, there's still hope for us all because... apparently my car actually was booked this past Saturday on a ship that got delayed and didn't leave till yesterday, and Mini didn't know about this until today.

I've heard that sometimes they won't know the status until after the ship leaves, plus it's a K-Line ship so I wouldn't have been able to track it on W&W - but YAY MY CAR IS ON A SHIP (Oregon Highway)!

Please keep me updated on yours! I'm sure it won't be much longer - or maybe yours has left also..

Hey Fizzyrox, I've been posting in the other week build thread, but I found out this morning to that my MCS is on the Oregon Highway too. My port is Brunswick, GA and my MA said the arrival ETA is 02/25/2015.

Congrats, looks like we are on the same boat! Which port is yours going too? Brunswick?

Thanks! Mine's also going to Brunswick! SOOO happy to finally be on a ship. Congrats to you and your Mini.

They told me 2/25 too! It's funny because the K-Line schedule says like March 3rd or something, but I'm just happy that my car is on a ship and on its way.

Which Mini did you get? I got the 4 door

I got the 2-Door MCS in Thunder Grey Metallic. I thought the same thing too kinda when he said 2/25 because I checked the schedule online and saw March 3rd, but if your MA said that too then hopefully that's right.

I'm just glad I wont have to keep calling the automated number every day for status updates like a crazy person

Yep, me too... several days of static info on the W&W site replaced with retroactive info about a new ship assignment. Boarded, left port, out of range already... the METIS LEADER. Scheduled for SD, CA on the 11th.

This is the Build 5 thread, similar to this one here:

Awesome! Mine's a red 4 door. Yes - I no longer have to keep calling ASK MINI all the time, or worse.. keep refreshing the W&W page on repeat.

Now I will just be tracking the ship all day and night..

Not Oxford

Hey Fizzyrox, Judging from the position of Oregon Highway looks like yous was built in Germany. My Volcanic Orange 4 door was built in Oxford. Also shipped via K-Line.

Tracking

www.marinetraffic.com

Do a search for Oregon Highway. You can also add the vessel to your fleet of one so it is easier to find in future. Only problem witht he site is no coverage for a lot of the trip unless you join their expensive club which I did not do.

Mine was built in Oxford, too, according to the production info on the VIN lookup, and MINI USA told me this as well. The ship picked it up at the Southampton port

Good - that's what I'm using.
