Problem with comfort access

So I am having a problem with locking the car from the driver side. Basically. I have the press the button three of four times to get it to lock... and it takes about as much time to lock it as it does to just pull out the keys and use them especially when rapidly hitting the door button often locks and then unlocks it just to taunt me... which is annoying when you paid extra for a system...

Anyone else experienced this problem and have a solution?

I press the unlock button on the door when I exit the car and it will lock no problem with the comfort access. If you have a passenger and they exit the car you do not have to do it to make it work. There is an old thread about this same thing

The other option is to turn off the automatic door locking when driving.

This is the solution I found as well. Somewhat of an annoyance. The CA button should lock the vehicle when pressed after a door is opened and closed. Period. If only the driver door is opened, then the first push of the CA button opens the other door and tailgate and then the second push locks everything. I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if changing the settings to "unlock driver door only" would fix that as well.

I've been doing the same as above, after discovering this Comfort Access quirk.

If you do want to keep the automatic door locking feature on, there is coding for unlocking all doors on engine off (via e-sys) - which should solve this problem; but I haven't tried it.

I'd be really interested in trying this method out. Can anyone who has the cable/software code anyone else's car? Or is it locked to the ECU like ECUTek tunes, etc?

yup - anybody with BMW E-sys and the data files for F-series cars should be able to program this; the variable is in the BDC module - listed below.

Unlock Door on Engine OFF (1 pull):
3040  VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK = aktiv 01
