Finally got my new MINI. Couple of questions:
Did we ever get word on when/if the lack of rev-matching for 2nd gear would happen? I will admit that it makes a clunky transition through second that 2nd gear shifts differently than all the other gears.
Second: Anyone think of any ways to stream music like pandora or spotify from your cell phone with the basic bluetooth setup? I remember seeing some stuff on a workaround through coding, but then I heard that the most recent software updates eliminated the ability to do coding... is that not true?
Thanks in advance, and btw, love the new car! Its hard to keep the revs down for the breakin unless I keep it in green mode. the new MCS really zooms!

i just got the stock radio. as I am planning on running a tablet for all my stuff anyhow. just wondering if there is a bluetooth workaround or if I just will need to create a tablet dock that runs the usb for power and an aux cable for music.
from my limited time with it, it seems like it will play a stored playlist of songs you own/have on file... it won't livestream pandora through the usb... or I haven't figured it out yet at least...

discrete and works how you want it to:
- phone will pair up with the car's bluetooth and calls will be handled by car's native bluetooth features.
- pandora/spotify/google music/any music/etc... will stream via this RFBTAUX unit. simply change your input to AUX.
yes, when calls come in, it will switch over automatically while pausing music. when you hang up, it switches back to AUX and music resumes automatically.
saw that one as well as some other similar options. I think for sound quality, I should probably stick with a physical aux cable. Just need to figure out a clever way to run the wires so they are not in the way.
2) most units out there lack 2 things. either a) the way they mount is poor and the unit will flap around and be in the way...and b) they are using a subpar version of bluetooth that will not allow for dual-pairing as well as drain the battery faster.
specific reason i got this one was to defeat those 2 obstacles.
I will take another look at it then. If the audio quality really is unaffected, then it may just be my solution. I was just concerned because many reviews of bluetooth receivers mentioned a decrease in audio quality vs. a physical cable connection.
It is technically affected. However, in an automobile it is highly doubtful that you would hear it. I can link to more info on bt compression but a quick Google will get the answers you need.
