Finally CQuartz

After getting hit, waiting 2 months for repairs then another 2 months for the paint to cure, I finally had the "New Car" detail done this past week. Here is a link to Pristine Detailing LLC in PA. Mike did a great job, the car looks fantastic! Now I don't want to take it out of the garage!

Its basically like wax that you don't need to reapply every couple weeks right?

It is interesting how many Mini owner actually know a thing or 2 about detailing.
Cquartz is a COATING, suppose to last 2 years or more when cared for properly.

Mine is coated with CQUK =)

Great, we try to encourage people to get their new car coated all the time.

Out of curiosity, about how much does that cost to have applied? I assume it's not something that should be DIYed right?

Here are the photos so far, I had the entire car done inside and out. The entire cost included coating the painted surfaces as well as the glass, trim, lights etc. interior applications to seats and trim. The cost for my car was in the condition it was in was $740. A lot went in to the paint correction. This seems very tedious and I would definitely pay it again.

Definitely not a DIY for ME, especially after seeing all the steps necessary to do it correctly.

How did a relatively new car's paint get trashed that badly to start with? The pre pix look like someone took some sandpaper to it.

Wow that first before pic is bad! Not sure how a car that's less than a year old got that beat up.

What do they put on the seats?

The car was in an accident in June, then spent 2 1/2 months at the dealers body shop while being repaired where it was washed and detailed and has been only once to a local hand wash only car wash. CarPro the makers of CQuartz actually have a sign to hang from the rearview mirror when the car is serviced so that it's not washed. I will be the only one washing this car from now on. Oh and the car has been in my garage at all times when at home.

I'm at work now so I don't have the info. about the seats but the trim was coated with DLux from CarPro and the CQuartz was the new version V6.

This is starting to remind me of the old Fabric Guard and paint sealer days. Remember when dealers padded your bill with that stuff?

Yep.
I go on a detailing forum and the Opticoat stuff is very popular. Haven't heard as much about this Cquartz but when I heard about the seats and price tag it sounded like the dealer add on stuff.

I enjoy waxing my car though so I'll pass!

It does seem like professional detailers like it though so I guess it's legit. Sure is expensive!
