Tips & Tricks

New to Minis and just wanted to start a thread regarding tips and tricks of the new F56 that make life easier. Please feel free to add tips that you have as well.

1) Disco Lights. Hold the interior light switch for 5+ seconds and it will activate a cycle effect for your interior colors. Passengers love it.

2) Sunroof. Tap twice to close and open the sunroof without having to bother with the intermediate vent option.

3) 6 Memory Buttons. These buttons are capacitive. If you place your finger over each button it will display on your screen what is saved for each button. I assume only works with those who purchased Mini Connected + Visual Boost package.

4) Car Outlet in boot. For those who purchased the storage package option there is an outlet in the boot on the right side.

Anyone got anything else?

5) Gas Pedal. Push to floor for best results in your new MINI.

Press black button on handle until it actually locks the car, maybe once, twice, thrice. I think the first few times I used the button I left my brand new Mini unlocked! The headlights will flash when it locks, easy to see at night, maybe not so much in the day, but then just look at the interior door lock button. IMHO, Mini has overthought this feature.

By going into the settings menu, this can be changed. I set my car to lock/unlock all doors with one button press on the key fob.

Also in settings, turn off auto-lock. Someone in another thread mentioned that and it cured the comfort access multiple press to lock issue for me. If you like auto-lock, someone else mentioned that they just make sure they press the unlock button on the handle (inside) as they open the door to cure the multiple press to lock.

Siri - voice activation

Learned this from an older thread on here:

Long press the steering wheel voice activation for Siri, when your iPhone is
connected. I have started to use the native podcast app + voice activated stations on the iPhone vs. the buggy/laggy miniConnected\Stitcher.

2014 MCS w/halogen lights

Changed the DRL bulb to LED w/o any problem. Tried to change the fog light bulb and got warning. Ordered the canbus resistor and everything worked. Took it out 5 minutes later because the resister gets way to hot and will cause wiring problems or melting of the plastic in that area.....either way not good.
