Has anyone who ordered in June successfully gotten this discount?

 

My dealer honored the $500.00 off MSRP for the DriversEd credit and I ordered the last week of June. I was also given $1,000 off MSRP for the EPA delay, $250.00 off MSRP for being a USAA member, and lastly $250.00 off MSRP for Motor-Tober. Car should be arriving towards the beginning of this week :-)

Does anyone know of any other discounts that are available? Maybe for AAA? I am in the negotiating phase of buying a new Countryman. I do think its strange that you only qualify for discounts that are active when you pick up the car, not when you place the order. Discounts such as Motor-tober will not be in effect when the car finally arrives.

 

Was the $250 OFF MSRP Motor-Tober a MiniUSA deal or dealer specific?

 

Since you have "right of first refusal" the car is just ordered....but you do not pay for it or own it until pickup day....
Some dealers deal, some don't...
Back in 2004(for a 2005 model) my dealer said "this is the price" but did not tack on any BS fee's....
So be sure you know HOW your dealer works.....
To get a "super low price" then get it run up with $1000 in junk pass on fee's like advertising fees or salesmen coffee fund fees is a joke...heck even documents fees are junk fees...
You don't pay a fee to get the receipt for you cheeseburger, or for the new burger king commercial on tv( it is built into the sales price!!), don't pay a fee for your car....

You sound like you have a great dealer.

 

The dealer near me requires a $1,000 non-refundable deposit, so the right to refuse delivery of a custom order would be $1,000. Basically they require you to order a car without knowing exactly how much it will cost (discounts may have been added/removed).

 

I got the feeling when talking to MINI that it is about the same Discount you would get using USAA's car buying service....
if you go to the USAA website...select MINI, go to NEW CARS....selected hardtop...

 

Not sure. At first I was just told I would get the $1,000 credit towards accessories but the GM was able to get approval to use it off MSRP like a down payment. The 250.00 USAA discount is advertised on MINIUSA of up to 1,000 off but the dealer was able to approve the $250.00. I never asked or knew about this Motor-Tober discount but when my sales advisor was running numbers for me, she mentioned the GM also gave me the $250.00 credit for this dealer promotion that was running so it all worked out. Getting $2,000 in credits and off MSRP I can't complain. That's also including the $500.00 drivers Ed discount.

 

My order was in June and I too got the $500 DriversEd discount honored.

 

Go to the USAA Car Buying web site and configure a car that is about the same price as the one you ordered. Then hope that your dealer is a USAA dealer and select them on the web site. They need the certificate number to give you the discount. If you buy the car you can get a reduced interest rate from USAA. We got 0.89%.

I feel like we missed out on $500. But the time I realized we could get this, we were picking up the car the next day. I didn't think there was time to get it. We ordered in Late Jun. I guess we lost out on $500/

You got a good deal. I never heard of this Motor-Tober discount. May have missed another one!

 

I was pretty happy with the deal. $2,000 off MSRP so I can't complain. Wish I could pick up my car today but it's being prepped and I work nights in the ER so it looks like Wednesday morning will be the day! Can't wait!!! :-)
