Anyone order a new 4-door F55?

I'm thinking about placing an order for the new 4-door F55. Just curious if anyone have already placed a custom order and if you were given an expected delivery date? Thank you.

I don't think that car is available yet I don't think it's being ordered.

When I picked up my F56 my MA said it would be available for ordering later this year, did not know exactly when.

Maybe after the Paris auto show on October 4th (it's debut) it will be available to order?

I have ordered. Will probably be built in November (due to JCW exterior Package). I will get build-week soon.
I think it takes 3-4 weeks after it is built to get it deliverered, here in Sweden.

US F55 models are available for order at your MINI dealer, but production and delivery are delayed until December 2014 or January 2015. You can order, it's just going to be a bit of a wait.

Cool, thanks for the info. It's been a big of a wait for a lot of F56 cars unfortunately. Whenever the governmant is involved I always anticipate a bigger delay. I work for the gubment!

I ordered a 4 door hatchback the first day the build was possible on the web site (9/8). I just got a message from my dealer that the car has an estimated arrival date at the Oxnard, CA processing center of 10/15! However when it will be released and sent to my dealer is not known.
I can't stop drooling!

I drove the F55 SD yesterday. Very very nice car Feels so small and tight, yet I could sit behind myself in the backseat. I am 185cm long.
The sound from wind and tires was a little bit higher than I remember from driving the F56 though. Might be due to the glasroof.
I think it looks better than the F56 in reality. More harmonic with also a little overhang in the rear. Also some kind of love-handles in the rear when looking at the car from the side, almost Porsche-esque.

Martinbs,

That's awesome you already have an estimated delivery date for later this month. Just curious is you ordered from SF Mini or Mini of Marin? Did you negotiate the price at the time you placed the order?

I'll be ordering mine in approx 30 minutes! I'll update with experience and expected delivery; I was told 9 weeks on the phone yesterday, we'll see if that changes.

EDIT: Just got back from ordering. They're expecting delivery late December, early January...more than likely January. The EPA is holding them up and they don't foresee the showroom/dealer cars to be released until late December; once those are released then the customer cars will be released.

Yes, I got similar info from my Mini dealer. Those who were told late October delivery.......won't happen! Most likely January deliveries, like you said. I don't hold much to best case scenarios with Mini USA. Hence the January projection.

It will be interesting to see how the F55 4-door does, sales wise.

Thanks! I'm incredibly excited! I ordered the Cooper S in Deep Blue with black roof/mirrors/bonnet stripes. The wait very well may kill me.

Have a F55 on order that's about to complete production. Just confirmed with 866-ASK-MINI that it has a Monroney/EPA hold. Oh joy.

How are everyone's orders coming along?

I ordered on Oct. 7th and my car is currently on a ship heading toward the Panama Canal with a final destination of Port Hueneme, CA on Dec. 7th (from what I can tell). Then for the journey over land...

From my conversations with ASK MINI reps, there doesn't seem to be an EPA hold on the car...we'll see.

The only hold on the cars is from MINI USA. My F55 has been sitting at the VDC for about 3 weeks.

Corporate finally sent the dealers a sales bulletin this week saying that some priority pre-sold cars will be released beginning next week.

Official "on-sale" date is set for sometime in January.

Bummer about your car sitting at the VDC, hopefully you'll have it soon

Thanks for the info!

What ship is yours on? My MCS is on the Undine due in to Port Hueneme on Dec. 8th.

What's the difference between the 4 door F55 and the Countryman? No hatch on the F55?

I think ground clearance would be the biggest difference. The new 4-door seems to sit lower since it's still a regular Hardtop, shape wise. The Countryman obviously has the different body style and sits higher up.

Yes it does, I drove one for a day. If it's a regular HT does that mean it's the same frame at the F56? I assume it's longer in order to have more room in the rear seat. Does it have a trunk? That would suck, no fold down rear seat access from the back.

It is a 5 door hatch, the F56 with a couple of doors added. It's basically, sort of, the F56 but 6 in. longer.

Couple of articles with some pictures:

Someone's Flickr Photos

Oh, and you can configure one at MINI USA.

---^ That. It does have a trunk. Like mininoir said, it's basically an F56 but longer. So the Countryman remains separate in shape and size.
