Oh, and you can configure one at MINI USA.

While we were doing the PDI on our 4 door demo, my tech had me get in the boot and he was able to close the bootgate without having to put down the back seats. Some impressive room in it. Drove it around for about half and hour yesterday. Its quite the machine, feels very sure of itself.

Picked up our 4 Door yesterday!

Our 4 door F55 S was delivered to East Bay MINI on Friday after sitting in Oxnard since 10/15/2014. I am guessing the timing was in synch with marketing plans.
I picked up the car yesterday and am just starting to learn about using the somewhat different controls. The new controls are related to the old but it takes some getting used to. Lots to like about the car - it seems quieter on the road than our 08 ClubmanS. The ride is pretty comfortable even over harsh bumps although it would be much better with Koni FSD shocks like we have on our 08 Clubman S. The bolsters on the seats are a little intruding even for my medium build. I have lots to learn.

The car has Rear Camera, Navigation, Auto Trans., Harmon Kardon Sound, LED Headlights

The thread title is misleading, the car is a 5 door hatch, not a 4 door. With Mini announcing they are reducing their car offerings to 5 models I think this car will compete with the similar Countryman 5 door hatchback model. That will confuse people I think: we want 4 doors and a bigger rear seat, which one do we get? Nobody's going to really use 4WD much in a Mini are they? I say 3 door hatch, 5 door whatever, convertable, and station wagon (Clubman). Regular, S, JCW in all but the station wagon. That should be enough choices.

MINI USA has the model listed as Hardtop 4 Door, that's what I'm going by and probably the OP as well

I think there is a big difference between the Countryman and the Hardtop 4 door (5 door hatch...whatever...I'm going with MINI USA terminology). The Countryman is considerably larger and has far more ground clearance, more of an "SUV" than a standard 4 door, imo.

As for 4WD, it can be very handy for many people, esp those in areas that get lots of snow or for people that like to ski, etc.

yes we are in Knoxville Tennessee.

We thought we were getting out car Saturday, then Monday, Then Tuesday, Then Wednesday, Now the 12th of december... you can hear the frustration because it keeps getting delayed and we already signed paperwork.

I forgot the rule "When a salesman is talking, he is lying. you can tell because his lips are moving." All Salesmen lie. 100% of them. And i would much rather them just say "it will be Dec 12th", but this "tomorrow" stuff is annoying as hell.

And very unprofessional.

That is so sad and disappointing. Hope you are able to get your MINI soon. Although, I am perplexed how you can have paperwork signed, but not have the vehicle in your possession.

Nope, its a 4-door according to mini. 5 door is confusing.... who considers the hatch a door? I just bought one this week and the paperwork says 4-door.

You're gonna love that car. Those seats rock. I forget what's in the Sport Package except the seats and maybe the wheels. I thought you had to get the NAV in order to get the HUD but you didn't seem to.

I believe as long as you have any Connected unit you can get the HUD.

But the HUD does function like a real time navagation unit while you're driving right? I realize it might not let you plan a route, or show you where Starbucks are. For $500 that sounds reasonable to me.

The HUD can display:
- Current speed
- Bluetooth phone info (Incoming caller ID, recent call list for when you're making an outgoing call)
- Audio info (Station selection, track info for CD/Bluetooth Audio/USB when changing songs)
- Navigation instructions (distance to next waypoint, arrow for upcoming turn, ETA) - Navigation is required for this
- Check control alerts (cold temp warning, TPM alerts, etc.)

I've used it a couple times while testing the car and while it kind of copies what you would see on the instrument display, but it puts it in a more useful location in your field of view.

Definitely ordering it on mine when the time comes.

I expect that the car was damaged in shipping and they have to "fix" it up for me.
Great eh?

But yeah, our first payment is due and we don't have the car. I'll NEVER buy another car from this dealer again... EVER.

And their "ranking survey" is going to be straight up 0.5 stars across the board (because that's the lowest)

:HATE:

please let us know when it comes it. some of us have been promised dates and then had them move. I will be happy to see some of them arriving and actually being delivered instead of just promises broken.

Nearly identical to mine, except I don't have anthracite and I have white leather and white accent line. LOVE it! The new mini feels even better than the last gen! Much more BMW like.

So if you get the HUD without the NAV for $500 you will only see speed and phone and radio info? That seems pretty lame.

except that some of us want to get our NAV from our phones and not from our cars. So getting these options exactly this way is a good compromise. I didn't want that big ugly screen anyway, but the wife did and it's her car, so I caved in on that, but I'll keep my android and bluetooth for my NAV features.

Oh, and our car still isn't here yet. I'm ready to kick a salesman's butt.
