Is there any way to tell the difference between...

I just got a call from my MA today that my brand new Pepper White F56 was waiting for me at the dealer to be delivered, but when going through my spec sheet I noticed that the LED Headlights With Cornering Lights that I ordered were not listed.

My MA assured me that they are indeed installed in the car but something got “mixed-up” in the printed spec sheet. I haven’t been able to see the car in person, so I wanted to ask you guys if there’s any physical difference between the normal LED Headlight Unit and the Cornering Lights Unit?

I’m going first thing tomorrow to see the car in person, but I don’t know what I need to look for when I get there. I read on another thread that with Cornering Lights you get a black headlight insert whereas the regular LED lights have a grey insert, but I don’t know where to look for this “insert”.

Some pics will be highly appreciated... Thanks!

The LEDs have eyebrows.

See pages 190 and 195 of the manual.

Hmmm, cornering, let's see...

It says the (expensive) cornering light module is #2 in this diagram. Could you tell if it was missing?

Here's a side by side, and run this page through Google's translate.

And I would like to note it's that the design is also changed. Adaptive headlights with, part of the gray becomes black specifications reflector chrome plated, with the central part. It becomes a texture that is sharp as a whole, the front face is contracted with a jerk.
Japan has different ideas.

That page and this page are excellent. Someone should make threads like these.

It is fairly easy to notice, as you can see from the pics above. There is a small light inside the headlight assembly with the cornering lights.

The black/chrome parts for the bulb shroud are also switched around...LED w/cornering lights should be more black, than chrome.

Thanks!!!

I can tell by the pics that the plastic trim surrounding the light unit is indeed darker on the headlights with the cornering lights, as well as the chrome eyebrow. I’m also going to look for the small light inside the headlight assembly.

Those Japanese blogs do know how to take the “devil is on the details” to a whole new level...

I don’t know what I’m going to do if my car doesn’t have them installed and my MA is just feeding me BS...

I’ll keep you posted when I’m back from the dealer.

It's a 2015, but I’m not in the US. I’ve been following the EPA debacle for a while now here at NAM, and I just can’t believe it.

Can someone clue me into what mess you're referring to please? I'm looking at buying an F56 to replace my current lemon once we get finished with arbitration and I want to know about all the issues now so I can weigh my options. I really don't want another lemon. Thanks in advance for the info.

Or a lot of no information.

It's paperwork of some kind or something. It's not about the car's quality.

Great! Thank you so much! It sounds like this is only with the S model and not the base... is that right?

Both base and S cannot be sold until the EPA is finalized and approved

"We're the government and we're here to help!" I sure hope the October date holds true, but as a government employee I've learned that projected dates are sometimes months too optimistic.
