F55/F56 The 2015 "ouch" :(
That says so "nothing". And it's not new over there, it's been discussed a bit in the comments to the July sales figure story.
I know Mini has been really careful not to say anything negative about the EPA, but this to me is stupid and typical of over regulation. They should let Mini sell the cars now. The mileage can have an asterisk, and if there were any changes required they can always do a recall and a reflash of the ECU. But, that would be logical, and we can't have any of that.

I have a manual and my sticker has 30/42 34 avg on it.

You know what? What the mileage sticker says really doesn't matter.
It's clear you can beat the sticker if you drive "green". It's also clear you will not get the sticker mileage if you drive like you stole it.
It's not a Prius (thankfully!).
If you have your car now, enjoy it. If you don't have your car, enjoy it when you get it.
I seriously am beginning to think that the gnashing of teeth over an six to eight week additional wait for those of us who have first week 2015 production cars is beginning to get old.
Just deal with it. Remember why you bought the car. It's still the car you ordered with your choice of options. It's still going to have the new car smell. You're still going to have a big grin when you drive away from the dealer.
Be happy.

To me, owning and driving a specially ordered car within a week of its arrival in the US is quite different from taking delivery of a car will have been roasting outside in the salt air at the port for 2+ months. It's not the waiting time so much as it is me wondering about unexpected and "unnecessary" deterioration.
Not sure yet what to do about it, if anything, but it ain't quite the car I ordered.

Remember who is running the show here, the EPA, a US Gubment agency. I am a federal employee for 4 years after many years in the private sector. Things here move at the speed of a glacier. If they say it's gonna be 4-8 weeks it could be 4 months. Merry Chrismas!

Six to eight weeks at the VDC will not cause any issues. In fact, I suspect that down the road it may very well be somewhat of a "get out of jail" card. If and when any issue comes up, just bring out the "you know, my car had to sit X weeks at the VDC and I'm sure that could be contributing to the issue".
Also, ever bought a new car off a dealers lot? Did you look to see when it was made? The average cars going to sit on the lot two months before being sold: http://www.postandcourier.com/articl...2107/140109844

This made me wonder if there were discrepancies with the EPA that required re-certification. Hmmmmmmm.
Stickers are nice, but you need to know how the numbers are calculated.
In real world, Miss Susan (my neighbor) has a 2012 R56, 6 spd, (justa) and is getting 43 mpg. Which is slightly higher then the sticker.

i still dont see why the cars cant be sold as advertised. i didnt buy my mini strictly based on the mpg. while it is nice that the mpg is higher than my current vehicle, i dont care what the final number turns out to be
Welcome to US Government. Big brother is watching
However, the EPA cares and MOST consumers DO care, which is precisely why Hyundai Motor America is now required to pay back every customer who purchased a new Hyundai vehicle, whose Monroney sticker stated that the vehicle was to get 40mpg on the highway, the difference in fuel costs between the stated (40) and actual (36-38, depending on model) MPG.
