New exhaust from Remus?

This looks and sounds promising. Although I'm sure it will be rather pricey.

Very nice. I don't even see it on their web site as yet, but a "valvetronic-type" exhaust like that is high on my list of stuff I want to do to my car. I'll keep my eyes peeled for availability.

Interesting. I found a couple articles on Remus' European site mentioning that it was in production and ready for order. I'm going to call the U.S. point of contact for Remus and see what he has to say about us getting it.

Jeff at Remus USA did not have a price for me, but he said they will start arriving in two months. You can call to give them info for a notification list when they are available.

I found the exhaust on the Remus European site. It runs at ~$1700 with the CF tips. The problem is they don't list the US as a "ship to" location.

My only complaint with this car so far is the horrible LACK of goodies to play with on it!

Both the looks and the sound seem much the same. I wonder who is actually making the JCW system for Mini? Given that Remus is in Germany and the release dates seem to coincide so well I've got a sneaking suspicion they maybe one and the same. Let's see how the price comes out on the JCW unit.

AFAIK, Akrapovic are the manufactures of the JCW exhaust.

If it deletes a cat, I doubt it.

I've caved and ordered one today! Will be with me by late next week here in the UK.

I wasn't initially a huge fan of the promo video they made, but I have since found that they offer an additional 'racing tube' centre section which deletes the OEM centre silencer.

Here is a video of it with the additional racing tube fitted (as I've ordered)

Mmm, burbly...

Between this and the JCW, both are rather expensive.

I vote Remus. JCW pops I could do without. I also like the 2 modes idea. Won't wake up the neighborhood at 2AM returning from the bars. Can you imagine what a cop magnet one of those things is? Whoa.

I'd like the see where the switch will be located. I'd rather it be something small and not noticeable that can be placed under the seat maybe

From the pictures it looks as if the Remus exhaust's valve closes one of the dual pipes coming out the back? Is that true? Also, how's the drone without the silencer?

So what configuration did you get? I just ordered the first US system from Remus USA to the tune of 1524 Euro ($1980). I went with the silencer tube and the CF tips for a full blown system. I should have it by the first of next week and will install it next weekend. I'll be interested to hear if you encounter any issues. Please keep us all posted.

Ive ordered the valved rear box with carbon tips and the optional racing tube - so I'll be having a full system from the downpipe back.

I didn't want the silencer tube, as I wanted more noise, hence the choice of the racing tube.

I called Remus yesterday and asked about the availability here in the US and the salesman said it'll be available after SEMA! I'm not sure how you're getting yours earlier papawhiskey but you're lucky! He also took my name and gave me free shipping! I'm ordering just the muffler w/ stainless tips for now and I figured I could go for the racing tube later if I decide to.

Turns out the US distributor got two systems in for SEMA, and felt they could live with one for the show. I had contacted them when the system was first announced so they asked if I wanted the second one. And rest as they is history!
