Does anyone know if it is possible to order an "S" with the standard seats that come in the non-S Mini?
I just took a new Hardtop S for a test drive... I like the car, but there's absolutely no way I could deal with those seats every day. I was planning on special ordering anyway, but it doesn't look like the standard seats are an option for the S
"Over 10 Million Combinations", why can't this be one?

Tell you what. You get your S, and I'll swap you my standard seats. The lack of lumbar support is killing me. I agree, though, that there should be more options with seating. It would be nice if the standard seats were available in different materials.

lol, you could pay the difference to have the seats upgraded to the style you want with the lumbar support and then we could swap!
Sadly, we may have some difficulty with this proposition since I live in Hawai‘i =)

It's just stupid. MINI.ca got away from a la carte in 2006. It's just frustrating and stupid.

I ordered the standard seats for my 2015 Hardtop, not sure why you would not be able to do the same for the S. I would definitely speak with your dealer about the seat options.Originally Posted by hailtiki

With the S, the Sports Seats are standard. I think that is the problem, there's currently no way in the config on the S to 'downgrade' to the base-Justa seats.Originally Posted by LauraHarlan

hailtiki - did you ask your MA? Definitely seems like something they'd have to push through on the build.
SeppTB is correct: there's no option to get the standard seats in the S.
I've sent an email to my local dealer, but they haven't replied yet. I'd blame their lack of response on the weekend, but they were open all weekend... Oh well... I think I'm going to go take a justa for a spin this weekend, to make sure I like those seats, and then ask in person.

I guess we are all different, but I think the S sport seats are great, on par with sport seats in BMWs.
Ya, they seem to be one of those "love it or hate it" things and it sucks because if you're in the "hate it" category, there are no alternatives. For me, I think the bolstering is too aggressive. I don't want to be "hugged" by my seats... I feel like I'm on an economy-class flight sandwiched between two fat guys, albeit, with more leg-room =)

Taking the Justa for a spin may surprise you all around
That 3-cylinder puts out a lot more power than you'd expect, and sounds great.
I've had a few people riding in my car who disliked the sports seats as well, I can definitely see how they'd be a turn off for some.

I've heard that the justa is pretty surprising =) I am considering it, if they come back and say there's absolutely no way to get standard seats in the S... I'll let you guys know what happens!

After test driving the S and having a S loaner, I went with the justa, the power and handling is awesome! I just could not picture a long jouney in those aweful sports seats!Originally Posted by hailtiki

It is funny how some people love them and some seem to hate them. My 5'3" pregnant wife and I (6'2") both found them very comfortable, I'd option them on a Justa if I go that route, for sure.
Test drove both those weekend, only debating the S for carrying around the extra weight of the F55, for an F56, especially without a sunroof and some other heavier fluff, the Justa seems more than adequate.

I wish this was mentioned somewhere. I didn't even notice till I took my first road trip. Honestly can't believe it wasn't standard. It's standard on BMWs with manual sport seats.Originally Posted by MasterYoda

I love the sport seat except I wish it was cloth. If you really wanna experience a terrible seat test drive a Paceman.

You can get the sports seat in cloth... but its a buy up option. I did find it a bit funny that all the cloth seat options were considerable extra cost, so far I'm pretty happy with the base leatherette, but I do think cloth would have been cooler and more comfortable. Just not $750 more comfortable for me personally.

The cloth sports seats were one of the reasons I fell in love with the MINI that I now own. I think I would have second guessed a lot more rather than bought off the lot if it didn't have the seats. They feel and look amazing.

Are they really that bad in the Paceman? To be frank, if the Paceman had the bells and whistles that the new MINI has, I would have considered it. I like the looks of the paceman better than that of the hardtop. (uh oh... I feel I'm going to get lamb-basted for what I just said) Originally Posted by Patriot!

Tried asking about standard seats in the S via the contact form on miniusa.com. The response I got after 3 days?
I noticed that JCW package, too... that was my plan, before I took one for a test drive and hated the sport seats =) I'm not a fan of leather/leatherette because it gets too hot/cold. I wish Mini had more options for the standard seats, in addition to having them as an option on the S...

Mine has the leatherette / cloth Black Pearl, which looks a helluva lot like gray to me, which is just fine. Originally Posted by RichSz
