F55/F56 How much do people pay for their custom order Minis these days?
We only have one dealership in Pittsburgh and they pretty much charge everyone MSRP, maybe $500 off. We had cars to trade-in so who knows what we really paid. We did get about what I expected for mine and waaay more than I thought we would for hers.
As much as I hate the idea of paying MSRP, it does seem to help resale around here.

When I ordered my F56, originally as a 2014, I was able to negotiate $1000 off MSRP.
I ended up switching to a 2015, and with all the craziness of the required options and then no longer required, I got significant additional $ off that clearly is the exception rather than the rule.
I did offer my car as trade after the price was set, but the dealer's offer was crazy low. I looked at prices on Craigslist, priced my car at excellent price for the buyer, and sold in three days at full asking price. I could have priced it higher and taken longer to sell, but I had front brakes coming up soon (rotors and pads -- I told the buyer the good price reflected that brakes were due soon), and was concerned about something going wrong and didn't want to risk it since I had another vehicle to drive while waiting for the order. Even with a price that got the car sold in three days, I got 3K more than CarMax offered and $4200 more than the dealer offered.
Bottom line, you should be able to get between $500 and $1000 off MSRP, and possibly more.

It's very easy to go "hog wild" with the options but we maintained our discipline and only ordered 16" wheels and sport struts and stripes as options.
I had tried to sell my car on my own and the difference would've been less than $2k and then I'd have to pay tax on the full amount which would've made it around $800 difference.
And then I wouldn't have a car to drive for weeks!
I always buy and sell motorcycles with private parties, but don't bother with cars.

I wish I lived in a state where you pay sales tax on the difference, i.e. new - trade. Not only do we pay sales tax on the full value, but the buyer of a private sale used car pays sales tax on the used car sale when they go to register the car for plates. A real racket...
we do have very reasonable registrations fees though. I've heard of some states like Colorado make you pay as a percentage of the vehicle's value or something.
The only worse racket is the fees when you get a ticket. My last ticket was a $35 fine, but just shy of $300 when all the fees were applied. Thankfully, in the last 25 years, I've only received two tickets, but you never know when and where the next one might be
Yep. I'm in one of those states. It used to be 2% of value, but it's down now to 0.65%. But, there's fixed fees too. My new car will be $98 fixed fees + 0.65% of purchase price + personalized plates fee.

I live in Wisconsin and I paid MSRP for mine with 8000 down and 1.85apr. Dealer forgot a ton of parts on my order so they threw in a bunch of free stuff that I was not charged for. I did not get any dealer incentives nor did I get any of the outrageous protection plans.
I live in SF Bay Area and paid MSRP on 5/31. The internet pricing was almost the same as MSRP when I ordered mine. The internet pricing has now come down to $1000 below MSRP in So. Cal and maybe $500 or so in N. Cal. However, a similar equipped car would cost more than what was in May. For example, moonwalk was $250 and now is $500.
I just got mine and they took off $750, but I am pretty sure they gave me $500-1000 more on my trade than it was worth. Overall, I actually have enjoyed the buying experience... A first for me. The dealer has been great.
I got $700 of MSRP and then another $500 for being a resent college graduate. I'm in Indiana and there's only one dealer in the state, so I feel I've done well enough. I've been more than happy with how they have treated me so far. Should be picking my car up at the end of the month.
I got $2500 of sticker, but the sticker had a bunch of dealer installed options that I didn't want, so they threw those in. I don't think I did that great on my trade in but there were a couple things that were going haywire on it.
