I miss my MINI

I have dropped my mini off at the dealer to get my free fog/driving lights installed because they missed them on the order. They have given me a bog standard 2013 MINI clubman. It's been about an hour and I dreadfully miss my car. I didn't realize how far mini has come in quality with the F56. It really puts the little bit of buyers remorse to rest.

Try selling your Mini and then waiting 10 weeks for the new one

Part of me wants to go to another dealer for a "test" drive, but it just might make it worse ...

I definitely miss my R56. It was a tough decision leaving MINI after 8 yrs and was sorely disappointed to not find another R56 with what I wanted, but I do love my Mazda3! It's definitely more practical and all the tech is awesome. Sometimes it's good to change things up, but I hope to get another MINI in the future if the next gen tickles my fancy.

Called the dealership today to see if they have my car done. Turns out they installed the lights but can't get them to work. No idea when I can pick up my car. This is ridiculous with all the problems I have had.

Ugh. If I were you, I'd be trying to go out to the shop to finish the work myself.

Sorry to hear that your car isn't ready for pickup. Hope they find the issue post haste. I know if I had to leave my MCS at the dealer I'd surely miss it.

Thanks. It is a pain having the car for a week and having to give it back to them for an unknown period of time for what would have taken me a day to do. Plus the absolutely dreadful and slow clubman they pinned me with. I miss the intoxicating acceleration and sound of my S.
They said that they need to get corporate involved to see what is wrong and they might need to order a second set to try with an unknown time to get and install. Hope to have it for the weekend for the local mini event happening.

Well isn't this just great. I drove the 2 hours to the dealership, I picked up my car and made my 2 hour trek back only to find out that BOTH sets of fog lights don't work now and I get a warning on the dash stating fog light malfunction. So not only do I have to be without my car again, I have to put another couple hundred miles on it.

I'd cut my losses and get my money back. From reading stuff like this the dealer installers either get it right the first time or the screw with it over and over until it gets worse or never works which is what it sounds like they are doing with yours. Are driving lights THAT big of a deal?

The thing is...they are put on free of charge because they forgot them on my build.

Doesn't seem like it's free, anymore. Time is money, and multiple 2-hour trips to the dealer add up. Not to mention the cost of fuel. Sorry, it's a frustrating situation. Hope they get this figured out soon.

For some reason dealers just cant install driving lights very well. I had a horrible experience also..Not to mention my friend did as well.. But in a nice way I did jack up my dealer about it and in return they charged me very little.. I did talk to the service tech and he said they just hate installing them.

Finally got my car back tonight. They actually have the lights working. However they still have not addressed the large paint chip in the plastic on the center console. Days I have had my car personally: 10 Days dealer has had it to install lights: 9
