2014 Hardtops, after the first month.

This is a place for new Mini Hardtop owners to give feedback and thoughts about their 2014+ Hardtop, after they get it home. If you've had your car any amount of time over a month, share your thoughts. Only owners of the new 2014 or 2015 Hardtop need reply. Inquiring minds want to know.

Here's a suggested link, if there's something you're confused about with your car. http://www.miniusa.com/content/miniu...your-mini.html

How long have you had it?
What have you thought so far?
Best thing?
Worst thing?
What has surprised you?
How do you feel in it?
Is it dependable?
Do you have an MC or MCS?
Is it manual or automatic?
How's you're gas mileage after break-in?
If you've owned an older Mini, what are the most notable differences?
What do you want to share?

Thanks!

Biggest surprise - lack of brake dust
Best thing - The sound system (honorable mention to the 38 mpg I'm getting commuting in stop and go traffic)
Worst thing - Can't think of anything at all
So far the only "issue" I had was a malfunction in my headlight leveling system when I started it up once. It hasn't happened again.

It's been all smiles for me.

VicSkimmr, that's great! How long have you had it?

That's the oddest thing, these little querks that happen once, but not again. Guess things are just trying to settle in while doing system checks.

How long have you had it? May 1st was when I picked him up.
What have you thought so far? I love the car so far!
Best thing? The gas milage, how it makes crappy round-abouts fun, how the V/O does not show dirt as quickly. I could go on and on.
Worst thing? When it gets dirty. Does that count? No, in all honestly the fact I do not have comfort access sucks. I also wish that they had the option for air conditioned seats (hot leather yiks!).
What has surprised you? The agility of the car in the corners.
How do you feel in it? Like a boss!
Is it dependable? So far so good not one issue yet.
How's you're gas mileage after break-in? Hwy 42 MPG and city about 33 MPG.
If you've owned an older Mini, what are the most notable differences? 1st one I have owned.
What do you want to share? I want to share that everyone needs one of these cars in their lives.

I was also shocked that I was able to fit 4 17x8" wheels plus 4 17" tires in the car yesterday. I had to put one tire in the front seat but that's still pretty crazy that all of that would fit. Wish I would've taken a picture now.

How long have you had it? 1 month - bought June 2.
What have you thought so far? A very fun car.
Best thing? The small size, the handling and the power.
Worst thing? Minor weeping w/s washer duct problem.
What has surprised you? After a series of BMWs, that I like it as much as I do.
How do you feel in it? Makes driving fun and engaging again.
Is it dependable? So far.
How's you're gas mileage after break-in? Still in break-in.
If you've owned an older Mini, what are the most notable differences? N/A.
What do you want to share? I think the new F56 is very BMWish in gearbox and engine feel.

How long have you had it? Took Delivery on June 12 - S Auto
What have you thought so far? Fantastic!
Best thing? Interior refinement yet retains that unique MINI character
Worst thing? Have experienced the Weeping Wiper Duct problem, but thankfully no paint or stripe damage
What has surprised you? Can't think of anything
How do you feel in it? Very comfortable

How's you're gas mileage after break-in? N/A
If you've owned an older Mini, what are the most notable differences? 2011 Cooper S Clubman (R55): I do miss the convenience of the Clubdoor, but the interior refinement in the F56 is light-years ahead of the previous generation.
What do you want to share?Definitely do NOT want to share my car... Yes it's fast; no you can't drive it!

Please specify if MC or MCS. Not to get too carried away, but also manual or auto.

Thanks for the comments so far!

Love the responses-Keep them coming

LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread. It's made me smile, and I hope people keep it up. Even if you've had it far longer than a month.

I'll add those suggestions, Conrad_Thomaier, on the original questions.

Favorite answers are to the "What do you want to share?" and "How do you feel in it?"

Honestly, this is our first Mini, FIRST NEW CAR for that matter, and I LOVE Mini owners. We're definitely unique. I think us 2014+ owners will become a scrappy crowd, with all the opinions of earlier model owners.

Keep the answers coming, and thank you!

Rev matching is turned off when you turn off traction control. (At least, that's the case with mine)

How long have you had it? 2 1/2 months (1,800 miles)
What have you thought so far? Absolutely love it!
Best thing? So much fun to drive.
Worst thing? Manual driver's seat.
What has surprised you? Love the navigation system. So easy to use. Heavy traffic re-routing is so helping.
How do you feel in it? Just fine.
Is it dependable? So far, yes.
Do you have an MC or MCS? MCS
Is it manual or automatic? Manual
How's you're gas mileage after break-in? Decent. Around 30mpg average.
If you've owned an older Mini, what are the most notable differences? N/A
What do you want to share? This is my first MINI and I am so happy I decided to go this route from my '11 Buick LaCrosse. It doesn't feel as small as it looks. Plenty of interior room. Exceptional quality now. Powerful engine. Handles great (I didn't go with the harsher riding sport suspension option). Awesome HK audio. Easy to park and maneuver. The only thing I wish I had was power front seats with memory. It's a pain having to re-adjust the seats whenever I move them forward to get to the rear seat.

CobraBob: On my Gen1 MINI the seat position does not change when I need access to the back seat; are you sure you are doing it properly?

I wish, they were Style 5s for my wife's Clubman that she ended up not liking. Had to have the tires removed before shipping them off to the new owner.

I'm not getting anything for the F56 until we get some suspension options.

Purchased mid May
We are really enjoying it
Love the way it handles
Wish it had power seats and leather
It is an all Black cooper
Gas mileage around town 32mpg but on our trip to Washington D.C we had 47mpg on the way down and 43mpg on our return trip according to the trip computer
This is our third mini, 1964, 850 and a 1970, 1000
