Found this morning that the main speakers for the sound system are actually mounted on the floor underneath the front driver and passenger seats. Not sure anyone else has noticed this yet, but thought it was kind of an ingenious use of space.

My F56 justa has them too... You can reach under while driving with the radio on and feel them vibrating so I know they are active speakers... Probably 6x9's? Didn't think the non HK systems came with subs?

Yeah in the middle. I bet the HK sound system is better than mine. That's probably the thing I am most jealous of wrt the F56 vs my car.

I don't have the HK option and my car also has speakers under the seats. I think they are primarily bass speakers but the do not sound like anything that resembles a real subwoofer. They do add some lower frequencies but no real bass. With crappy 4 inch door speakers they needed something to provide bass. I have no center channel speakers in the dash pod or separate tweeters.

Both the standard audio and HK audio have subs under the seats BUT...
The standard system has 6.5 inch subs where as the HK has 8.5 inch subs.
The HK system has better speakers compared to the standard audio, as well as more of them and a better amp.
The standard audio is supposed to be decent enough this time round though...
I've gone for the Harmon Kardon in mine though (due to be delivered in the 2nd week of July).
