Anyone else's F56 have a lot of extra glue from shipping?

My car had glue all over the front. It's the glue that holds the shipping protection. On the front grill, on the back edges of the hood, then down the side of the car eventually because it was so caked on. It's a yellow, somewhat liquid, very sticky glue. It was only in cracks and crevices, so at a glance you wouldn't notice it.

It gathered a bunch of dirt and was super gooey and disgusting. I think, after 3 separate tries, I finally got it all off. But it was a mess and creating more of a mess.

So did this happen to anyone else or did the dealer prep your cars properly? Of have you really looked? I'm sure the dealers are supposed to take a moment and remove it thoroughly, but my certainly didn't. But I also have to wonder why they used so much...I've had plenty of other new cars and didn't ever have this issue.

Mine did not have the glue you are referring to but I did see some cars at my lot in the middle of the PDI process which had it. That is totally just the dealership not doing a good job when prepping the cars.

And on a similar note I'm not sure if it's the dealer prep or MINI distribution center prep but there was very little Cosmoline on my car. With my 2007 R56 I kept finding new deposits for about a month.

Yeah, it was a pretty lousy job but it also seemed like an extra lot of glue. But oh well, I got it off now. I think.

All of our BMW's have had a ton of cosmoline left on after PDI. It's greasy and I needed to use a degreaser like P21s Total Wash or Simple Green to fully remove it. Be sure to try to get all of it off before applying a wax or sealant.

The only place I found glue still was inside the car on the center console. I mentioned it to the dealer and they offered to clean it off but at that point I just wanted to go home with my car. Took me about 10 minute to remove it with some goo gone.

There was quite a lot of glue oozing from under the hood near the headlight openings on mine.

Fortunately I haven't seen any of this glue type substance.

Wait for summer. Our 1er had it pouring out of the door handles, wing mirrors and edges of the headlights and our X1 likes to weep out of the headlights too. It's amazing how hard it is to truly get rid of all of the cosmoline, but I suppose that at the same time, German cars don't rust like they used to.
