Not good at waiting - bought MCS TG 6MT.

As posted here before, I had ordered a 2014 MCS BRG 6MT 17" Black Spoke, on April 23/14, with build date slated for Week 26 or late June, delivery to be late July or early Aug. I was away for a month, and went to dealers on Monday to recheck on order. An inventory car had come in just previously, and it was parked next to a another new MC in BRG with the Black Spoke 17" wheels. The "inventory" car was as follows: 2014 MCS Thunder Grey, 6MT, 17" Tentacle Spoke wheels, black roof and caps, fully loaded, style package, LED lights, grey Lounge Leather, anthracite roofliner, Satellite grey interior and color line, Piano Black trim, HK sound and performance tires (Pirelli P7s). Being "fully loaded" (as opposed to my order of "loaded", it has Navigation and several other items my order did not include. The only missing thing that I had ordered and would have liked was the $250 Storage Package. The rest of the "inventory" car was perfect for me. Parked side by side, truth be told, I liked the Thunder Grey and Black top and caps with Tentacle wheels better then the BRG with Black Spokes. The "inventory" car is not as dramatic as my ordered BRG car, but the TG one is, IMO, a "classier" look.

To make a long story short, I cancelled my ordered car (not yet built so I could do that) and paid a bit more for the extra items, and bought the Thunder Grey MCS. A rather drastic way to short circuit the order wait times!!

Only had it two days, but I am thrilled with the TG car. It is so much more fun to drive than virtually any other car I have had, including my BMWs. I have tints ordered up already, dark for the pano roofs, and medium for the three windows back of the front seats.

I am pumped. Pix to follow.

Very nice. Congrats. Always wanted the gray lounge leather but I'm a slob and it would probably get filthy. Enjoy!

Yes, eating on board is already a no-no in my cars, not just this one with light leather. BMWs light leathers can get stained from blue and black jeans, and I suspect this one may do that as well. I think extra leather cleaning and protecting will be required; however there is just two of us, mostly just me, and no kids or dogs. Might even throw in a small cloth seat protecter for those hot, muggy days when I have jeans on.

If I were to go with a new F56, TG is the color I'd pick. Great move!

If the Satellite Gray seats are anything like the Tuscan Beige seats in my car, they are not hard to take care of. Leather cleaner now and then and they look like new. I especially like the gray door panels on your car. Every other combination ends up with the same black door panels. Years ago, MINI used to offer more in the way of different colored interiors, not just colorlines. Its not that I have anything against black interiors, but EVERY other carmaker seems to do mostly black interiors and I like the option of choice. Your interior is beautiful.

Nice exterior, fabulous interior. When I saw your shot I immediately thought "hello fellow British Columbian". Looks like the Interior. Osoyoos or Kelowna?
Nice way to circumvent the wait - I'm into my eighth week with no update from my salesperson. We Canadians are a patient bunch.

Many years ago complaints about new, unwashed jeans staining white leather seats in Cadillacs would get sent to the president of Sears. Sears used to pay the damages IIRC. The excess dyes hadn't been washed out of the jeans, and on a wet body, they caused the problems.

Thanks for your comments. Kelowna. Been here since 1990, after spending 10 years in Vancouver. Originally from Alberta.

Hope you get word on yours soon. This car is so much fun to drive...
