Mini Connected and iphone 5

Hi everyone, just got my very first 2014 Mini Cooper S last week, it's been so much fun! My prior car was 335 coupe which was nice also but the Mini is more fun :-)

Did anyone have any luck connecting their iPhone 5 to Mini Connected? I downloaded the app and bought the Y cable from Amazon but it absolutely did nothing. I'm frustrated and disappointed that I can't take advantage of this cool feature that I was looking forward to.

Please let me know!

Thank you

t

I was told by the MA that you needed a special connector for the I5.($40)
The 4 worked w/o a special adapter.

Mine works perfectly with my iPhone 5S and the standard lightning adapter. No other special cables.

My iPhone 5S was connected easily and works just fine. No issues at all. The "old" Y-cable used with the R56 shouldn't be needed. I use the standard Lightning cable that came with the iPhone or the USB connection.

Really.... Wow I tried the standard cable first but didn't do anything. The app on my iPhone is supposed to say 'connected' but nothing happened. I'll try again and let u guys know!

Thanks guys

Hi guys based on the other tip that I saw, I uninstalled, rebooted, installed again, and rebooted... and now it works with the regular lightening cable that came with the phone like you guys said. Beats me... but I'm happy that it works now. Thank you so much!!!

Absolutely....just use the standard/charging cable that you use for the Iphone.
There is no official Y cable for the newer mini's. They give you the availability of both usb and rca, but you only need to plug into the usb port.
